Best of 2013

Hey guys! Just want to share my ultimate, favourite experience of the year. If you know me, you'd know that I'm a fan of travelling. My birthday wish this year is to travel to at least 1 new place a year(: My list for next year is sooooo long. There's Australia with Jo, John and Corn, Korea with Lynn, Taiwan/Japan with my family. Well I obviously can't do all but I hope at least 1 will come true! (:

So here's a video my awesome group leader, Krittin, made which summarises our experience in Shanghai. This has got to be the best 7 days of the year and watching it brings back so much memories. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did(:

Marche

I'm sure Marche is smth really familiar to you guys. I've always heard of Marche but for the years it's been around, last Thursday was my first time trying it out. My girls and I were at Vivo and we were deciding what to have for dinner when Lynn suggested Marche. I then said I've nvr been there before and they just stared at me and went "Whaaaaaaaaaaat!"

So being a newbie at Marche, I have no idea how things work. I didn't even know they had a market style kind of way of getting food - if you want soup, you go to the soup station. If you want greens, you go to the salad section. We were all given a card and my friends explained to me how it worked haha! Basically you order your food from the different stations and pass them your card. At the end of your meal, you then proceed to the cashier to pay for it. Lynn and I then walked round tgt to decided what we want to have and ended up walking round about 3 times. We were just spoilt for choices! Vanessa then kept insisting that I get Rosti so I did.

Rosti with Fried Egg

Lynn, Vanessa and I all got Rosti :D I'm pretty sure Rosti is Marche's most famous dish. It's basically shredded potato but wow, mind blowing. We all added egg but you could add other ingredients such as cheese and sausage as well! Today, I went to Marche again with Kaixuan and Lynn and I sucuumb to my temptation and got Rosti again. I wanted to try smth else but the previous experience of having Rosti was just too mouth watering haha! That's actually why I suggested Marche today cause I was craving for it. Definitely a must get from Marche!

Salmon

Here's what Shericia got. I'm quite a huge fan of cooked salmon actually so this definitely appealed to me. I didn't see this dish when I was roaming around Marche actually but it's under the seafood section. If I rmb correctly, it's priced around $14.

Chicken

And hungry Denise got this. I honestly have no idea how she finished this. The store she got it from also sells whole chicken and chicken thigh. The second photo is taken today(: Lynn ordered it today cause her pasta was sold out. She originally wanted Salmon Pasta Gratin (sounds so darn good) but it was sold out! I guess that means it's quite popular? If I didn't have Rosti today, I would have gotten the pasta actually.

Crepes with banana, chocolate and ice cream

After eating a chicken all by herself, Denise went on and ordered crepes. Nvr knew she had such a huge appetite! The crepes are really delicious but definitely not very filling. More of a huge dessert in my opinion. Lynn and I decided to get crepes too after trying hers haha!

Bread and Butter Pudding

Lynn decided to get dessert today too cause the dessert section looked too tempting. I myself also got dessert(crepes) cause it just looked too yummy! This pudding is quite decent actually and I might get it the next time I'm there!

Just to show you guys the dessert section (my favourite place ever!)

And here are some photos from last Thurs and today(:

Seasons Intertwined

And I finally managed to attempt layering in Singapore(: It's funny how I wore the same denim blouse and knit is 0 degrees Shanghai and 30 degrees Singapore though haha! This just mean I'm either not afraid of the cold or really afraid of it. And the conclusion is.... I'm not afraid of the cold.

I wouldn't lie. It was kind of hot under those layers but I was out for a movie date so it wasn't that bad. I wouldn't wear this on a normal day out shopping or for brunch. I was only out for about 3h so everything's fine haha! Decided to pair it with my tartan skirt I got about 2 weeks back. I just love how this skirt sits so nicely on my waist. The perfect size for me! And that's quite rare cause I'm kind of in between sizes now.

I thought it would be fun to throw on a cap that I own. It's like a clash of seasons. So the floral snapback obviously mean summer/spring, the knit is winter and the checkered skirt is autumn haha! Oh yeah, the shoes I'm wearing are actually my school shoes. Hot pink shoe laces cause it just matches so nicely with black hehe.

Dainty as a Flower

Here's what I wore for Christmas a few days back. This dress is actually my prom dress and this is my second time wearing it out! That means it was just hanging in my wardrobe for a year untouched haha! I just nvr found a special occasion to wear it.

Speaking of prom, I actually bought this dress 6 months before prom cause I didn't want to clash with others. Which explains why I'm hunting for a prom dress starting from now even though it's a year ltr. This is one of my favourite dresses from Miss Selfridge. It's just so dainty and perfect for a tea party! The little peek-a-boo in the middle was super fun too. I was secretly hoping that my prom theme in sec 4 would have smth to do with a tea party but it didn't turn out that way haha! Who cares, this dress still brought me lots of compliments(:

Just some of the many photos I took during prom(: You see the photo I took with the group of girls? Those are my awesome dancer buddies! I miss them so much and our meet up is long overdue! Really need to catch up with them soon.

Well anw, how was everyone's boxing day? I was out at vivo that day and there were massive sales gng on everywhere! I didn't buy anything that day though cause they didn't have my size. In order to cheer myself up, I came home and bought a TTR romper online haha! Can't wait to receive it!

Bricks.

I know I say I don't like rewearing my clothes but this basic blouse and denim shorts are my ultimate favourite apparels to wear on a lazy day out. It's just so easy to mix and match and I lost count of how many times I have worn them already. I'm pretty sure this pair of shorts have been worn more than 10 times haha! Did anyone of you notice? hehehe

Recently, I really like the idea of wearing a basic blouse with a pair of shorts. I'm planning to get a blue blouse actually. It just looks so comfy and laid back. It's so breezy which is perfect for Singapore.

So one of my Christmas gifts is... a Juicy Couture bracelet! I was soooo happy when I saw the little pink box. The weird thing is, I was planning to buy one when Rifdi gave me one. He didn't know that I wanted one for those wondering. He just thought it would suit me haha! I really love the heart charm and am going to wear it very, very often :D
