Aunt's visit to Singapore!

Hello all! Hope you're surviving the first week of school if you're a student haha! I've actually fallen ill on the first week and that's quite a bummer but I'm feeling a lot better today and will be able to go to school tmr! (:

Last week, 2 of my aunts came over to Singapore for a visit! They arrived on Thursday and left on Monday. It was quite an eventful week with them over cause my parents planned things to do and all. Not to mention the crazy amount of mahjong we played. Smth about the Yip family, we play mahjong... a lot. I'm quite sure I started as young as 7. Hahaha I sound like some crazy gambler but yeah. I guess it's cause we're from Hong Kong and ppl there play a lot of mahjong. For us, it's kind of like a time to bond. Think of it as your family time out for dinner or playing monopoly.

Well on Thurs, they arrived in the afternoon so they had a short nap before gng out for dinner! We had a simple dinner at  a hawker centre at Tampines. We ordered chilli crab, black pepper crab, cereal prawn, vege, tofu and buns. I think that's about it!

On Friday, my mum and sister both had to go to work while my brother had to do a project with his friends so it was just me, my dad and both my aunts. We decided to go to Fullerton Hotel to take some photos! It's opposite MBS, where the Merlion is! Despite coming to Singapore so many times, both my aunts have actually nvr been there before! So my dad brought them there and we spent about an hr being all tourist and taking photos. Being a tourist in my own country haha!

After which, we went out to shop at Orchard! I actually saw a really pretty pair of shorts at Pull&Bear but I didn't get it and I regret it so much now! Going to go out to Orchard today to see if it's still available. Oh! I'm also really happy cause I tried on size 22 for the pair of shorts and it fits perfectly! I'm a usual waist 24 so that means I lost weight yay! Well at my waist at least! My brother and I also went to buy TWG macaroons. My favourite has got to be the caramel one! It's their best seller actually and now I'm craving for some

For dinner, we went to Pow Sing at Serangoon Gardens for their awesome chicken rice! And at night, we taught our aunts how to play Singapore mahjong. They usually play the Hong Kong one so I guess it's smth new for them.

Btw, does my dress look familiar? I wore the same dress in white to Mr. Goh's wedding! The cut was so flattering that I bought the one in blue too hehe. You can read more about it here!

Well for Sat, we went out to the airport to have Crystal Jade! I just love dim sum haha!

The fun part came after lunch! My aunts decided to teach us how to play Taiwan mahjong and wow, it's so much more fun! Personally, I think it's more fun then the other types of mahjong I know. A little on Taiwan mahjong, instead of starting with 13 tiles, you start with 16. And you don't stack the tiles up but instead, place them one row up, one row down. We got the hang of it really fast and ended up playing 20 rounds. 20 rounds. Yes, 20 rounds. That's the most I've played since forever! The maximum I play is 16 rounds haha! When we swopped seats for the 17th round, all our arms and neck were aching but it was just too much fun to stop!

On Sunday, we went to S.E.A Aquarium! I'll be doing a blogspot about it soon so I shan't talk much about it here! Did you know you can swim with the dolphins for $248!!! It's quite expensive but I wana gooooooooo. I love dolphins hehe.

Preppy

Story behind this top. So I was out at Orchard last weekend and I went to Stradivarius to check out their new collection! Tried on this top and fell in love with it instantly. I actually think it has got to do with the fact that I have bangs as weird as that sounds. It just looks so much more adorable haha! But I didn't get it then cause I just went on a crazy shopping spree the day before and didn't really want to spend that much money. So I resisted the urge to shop and went for dinner instead. Halfway through, I couldn't resist and left to get the top haha!

I also recently bought this skirt from LB. I was a little hesitant at first cause I'm in between sizes. The problem with me is that my waist is a size XS while my hips are size S. So if I get smth in size S, the waist will be too loose for me. Can you feel my painnnnn (inserts sobbing emoji). But I couldn't really care that much cause I needed to cart out before everything gets oos! Since my sister got the one in size S, I got the XS one and I'm glad I did! The waist is just nice for me and the material is stretchy actually so my hips fit fine(:

I really love the textures of both the top and skirt (as you can see from the last photo). Was gng for a preppy kind of look and went with brown accessories. In this case, earrings, bag and shoes. I think I somewhat look like a school kid too? Haha! Definitely going to rewear the top and skirt someday cause it's just so structured and comfy! It looks like what you'd get at Zara actually in my opinion(:

This set of photos were all taken by Dian Zi! Thanks for braving the weather and running around with me(:

Song Yip Reunion!

Yesterday, I met up with the most amazing girl you can ever have as a friend(: Dian Zi is actually the closest friend of mine back in sec 3 and 4 and she's been through thick and thin with me (I know, very cliche). But seriously, I'm really glad to have her by my side and I definitely miss our gossiping/selfie taking/ food queuing moments tgt. We had lots of really embarrassing conv throughout that 2 years and I honestly don't know how both of us are so weird haha!

Unfortunately, we weren't able to meet up last year cause she's been grounded for the longest time ever and due to our busy schedules! I was actually surprised when she said she was free to meet up during the march hols! I kind of thought she was still grounded haha! But yeah! So that's the story behind how we met up.

We decided to go to Cityhall cause I needed to meet someone there to pass her smth and I thought the Esplanade would make a good background to take photos haha! The whole train ride was filled with catching up on both our lives. Well, mostly hers. This friend of mine has such a wonderful and interesting love life. I always can't catch up! Haha as compared to mine, hers is like rainbow and unicorns ok I tell you. But I'm really glad she's enjoying her time in school just like I am now(:

She also became my ootd photographer haha! She is really the sweetest girl ever. She was trying out all the different angles and retook so many photos for me<3 Brings me back to our selfie days so of course, we had to take some hehe

Also left my iphone on self timer to get some nicer shots!

Somehow our conv went to food. Yup so Dian Zi told me she nvr tried macaroons before and I was like whaaaaaaaaat! Macaroons are my absolute favourite so I dragged her to Canele to try some! And I'm so glad she did cause guess who fell in love with it right away!

For all the sweet tooth out there, the caramel macaroon would be right for you! I also ordered eggs and toast while DZ had eggs benny!

Finally was able to seat down and have a nice conversation with DZ(: How is it that we haven't met for 1.5 years! That's a really long time you know. The last time I saw her was back at KC, the day where we had to collect our O lvl results. Despite not seeing each other for quite some time, it wasn't awkward at all and there nvr was any awkward silence and what not. This is how you know you guys are good friends.

We then went round shopping! My absolutely favourite thing to do hehe. We went to Forever New cause I wanted to see if there was any nice prom dresses but guess what, I ended up buying a bag haha! It was just so pretty and I know I'd regret it if I didn't get it. DZ agreed too and told me to get it so you know what they say, listen to your friend. Ok no not really but hahahaha

We also went to a few other shops and of course, Kissjane! Kissjane is a place I nvr fail to visit when I'm around cityhall. Ended up buying a skirt there (it's really cute, not kidding). I think the girl working there probably recognises my face cause I go there so often. I just bought a romper from Kissjane last Thurs before getting my haircut!

Here's happy me with my shopping bags haha!

Well I just want to conclude this post by thanking Dian Zi for being by my side those 2 years. I can't imagine life without her and she is honestly, such a good friend. I can't emphasise on how nice she is. She'll always eat at whatever stall I want, is there for me 24/7, listens to all that I have to say, is my toilet buddy, selfie buddy, and nvr ever complains. I'm serious, she nvr complains or finds me annoying haha! It's really rare to come across someone like this and I just want you to know that you're really a gem(: Last long with Johaness and I'm always just a phone call away!

Along the Streets

I'm so glad it finally rained during the weekends! I rmb waking up, hearing the pitter patter against the window and then hugging Glitter who conveniently happened to be sleeping next to me. Beautiful way to start my Sunday(:

Instead of my usual knit which I would wear when it rains, I decided to change my style a little and dug out this bandage skirt that's been hiding in my closet. I'm not a huge fan of bandage skirts cause I always feel that they make my legs look shorter but this one was just too pretty to give a miss. It's made of a suede material so it's really comfy and nice to touch haha!

Paired it with a denim blouse cause I wanted smth that could keep me warm that rainy day. Funny story behind this set of photos. As you can see, it was taken along Orchard Road and it was really, really crowded. But being the shameless ppl we were, my sister and I went to take ootds there like there's no one around haha! We were getting stares but it's ok, we just pretended to be tourist haha!

Well a funny observation but if you've bee keeping track of the type of clothes I wear, you'd notice that my style kind of changed. It's just a coincidence that it happened right after I got bangs so one of my friend actually texted me "eh you change hairstyle then change dressing style also ah?" Haha that was really observant of him and thought that that was funny to share with you guys.
