As most of you alr know, there was a SIWW Pledge event last Sat! I'm really honored and happy to have took part in such a meaningful event! For those of you who aren't sure what it's about, basically for every photo taken with passerbys, the SIWW sponsors will donate $1 towards the conservation of water! It's really cool because instead of the usual donation, we'd just have to pose for photos, as easy at that(:

This movement was actually happening concurrently with one at Bugis with Qiuqiu and Ben, and the other at Orchard with Rachell and Peishi. I took part at the one at Orchard and it was really such a cool experience! But before I get to that, meet my awesome group buddies for the day!
Meet Zhi Ying and Valentine! I've nvr met them before but we soon became really good friends and started getting everyone all hyped up about the event!
These 4 are the promoters who were attached to our group! They were there to do the talking for us and help us gather ppl to take photos with. However, we soon joined in the fun cause honestly, it was quite weird to just stand there and let them do all the talking haha! Moreover, all 3 of us are quite outspoken (as unlikely as it seems) so it was super easy for us to talk to strangers and explain to them the purpose of the photos. Time seems to fly pass when we were out and about approaching random strangers as well!
We did have a tactic though. We tend to approach tourist cause they seem more willing to listen to us and were super enthu in taking photos. Which explains why our group's photos consisted of mostly tourist haha!
We bumped into these 2 really awesome girls who were super on for the photo taking. They even said to us omg we love asians when they left hahaha! And Valentine replied with yeah! You should come back more often. Haha!
These 2 guys are actually French and they're here for a holiday! We had a language barrier but they did understand simple English. So our conv ended up being "Photo, $1 donated, ok?" Haha! Once they understood, they were all up for it cause they knew it was for a good cause!
This family really stuck with me cause they're just so friendly and genuine. Just look at their smiles! How can you forget this.

We managed to reach our target of 40 000 pledges which mean we raised a total of $40 000! This target was actually reached 15 days earlier than expected! A really heartfelt thanks for the organisers and sponsors for coming up with this event so that all of us can take part in it! The money raised will definitely help the cause and hopefully, make a difference. Another thanks to all those who came down and made a pledge! If you weren't able to come down that day, don't fret cause you can still contribute and support this cause! Simple upload a selfie here, type in your water pledge, submit and share it with your friends! You could also tell your friends about it to spread awareness of pressing water issues! (:
