Color Run: Happiest 5k on the planet!

Hey guys! As most of you know, I went for the Color Run yesterday! Just cancelled smth off my bucket list hehehe. Wanted to blog about this event yesterday night but I was way too tired. Weird how I didn't run at all but my muscles were aching. Probably cause we had to walk uphill at some parts.

Throughout the whole car ride, we were all really excited and started taking retarded videos in order to make a collage for our instavid. We just learnt yesterday that you can actually combine different videos together to make an instavid! A little slow, I know.

The event was opened at 2pm, warm up started at 4pm and the actual run started at 5pm. We got to Sentosa at about 3plus and it was pretty empty then actually. There were maybe about a few hundreds there. Sounds quite a lot but there were actually more than 8000 people who signed up so it was quite a small number in proportion. There's no point going so early unless you want to rent a locker. Lockers are limited so it's good to go early to chope one hahaha. We checked out the different booths then went to the beach cause we had nth else better to do. Started taking photos, playing tic tac toe and talking about the run.

Then we went back to all the booths again to take some photos! It was a little more crowded at 4 plus. There were so many people wearing tutus!!! I kind of wanted to get one too but decided not to waste the money cause I would only wear it once haha. But it'd be really cute if you decide to get one. JL bought a tutu and is gng for the run today! Can't wait to see how cute she'll look like! Some people even wore the tutus on their heads. Especially the guys. It was so hilarious and they were definitely the centre of attention. Speaking of attention, many people wore crazy outfits! Some wore minnie mouse ear headbands, shrek headbands and knee length socks. 1 guy even dressed up as an easter bunny!!! He wore a white tank with a shiny bow tie and had bunny ears on. Oh yeah! He even had a lace umbrella. He wins the best outfit ok. Hahaha. So here are some photos of how the place looks like to give you all an idea.

You know the tattoos we have on our faces? Almost all runners were wearing it because it was included in the race pack. Well most of us had it on our faces but this fella decided to be unique and had it on his nose...

There were also people working there who were ridiculously dressed haha! They were sooooo colourful! They were basically there for you to take a photo with them so we did!

Punctually at 4pm, the warm up started! It was actually really fun. Kind of like Aces Day dance but everyone was doing it. I mean if you signed up for this race, you're probably the enthu kind hahaha. Everyone there was so pumped up and you honestly won't care how you look. Such a rare sight to see in Singapore actually cause everyone has the omg I'm gona be an embarrassment so I shall not do it cause I'm too cool for it attitude. Hahaha well throw that away at this event! You're bound to have a good time. The warm up only lasted for about 10 mins sadly. So after that, we just sat on the floor like hobos and started taking photos.

At 5pm, the race started! As there was a huge number of people, we ran in groups. You just have to queue up and they'll split you guys. Maybe about 100 plus people in a group? I joined the queue at about 5.20pm and we were in group 7. There was still A LOT of people behind us in the queue. If I'm not wrong, the last group ran off at about 5.40pm. It's really up to you when you wana go for it. Just a little tip, you should try to be in first 3/4 cause towards the end, there isn't lots of paint left. If you're the first few, you'll be sprayed with freaking lots of paint. Yay! Finally it was time for our group to go off!

For the first few 100 metres, we were all super clean. Tourists kept cheering on for us and so many people were taking photos and videos. Well it must be their lucky day if they decided to go to Sentosa that day cause they could witness the event! There were so many of them stretching out their hands and screaming HI 5!!! The runners were all super pumped and you can always hear people screaming. Finally, we reached the first station. It was the purple station! Okay another tip, you NEED to get a pair of shades for the run. If the paint enters your eye, it hurts really bad. Luckily for us, we all had our shades on. So we all happily went round getting colour blasted. It was so funny cause there were people on the floor rolling around to get more paint on them. So YOLO! We joined along and rolled our way to the end of the station.

I know it says a run but really, almost everyone was walking. We only ran when we heard people screaming in front cause that means that the next station is up! So after being covered in purple paint, everyone stopped at a corner to take pictures haha. It totally isn't a run actually. It's more of a walk, scream, cheer, roll on the floor, take pictures kind of event. My kind of event. Hehehe :D So we started walking up hill(super tiring I know) and talking. After about 10 mins of walking, we heard screaming! You know what that means... next station is near! So we all jogged to it and it was the blue station.

Time for photo taking moments again! We saw this really funny sign and knew we had to take photos with it. I mean just look at it!

And more photos...

Continued the run (or walk in our case) and we finally reached the point where they were giving out drinks. All of us stopped for a drink cause the weather was quite hot and we wanted to keep hydrated. Then we reached the yellow station! Yellow yellow dirty fellow quack quack.

I really like the mixture of this 3 colours actually. All of them were pretty light so it wouldn't 'cover' the colours we were sprayed with beforehand. As compared to the last station... Well you'll see what I mean later. So we decided to snap a few more shots cause the colours blend really well together.

If you're wondering why my face was mostly purple, it's because at the first station, the worker decided it would be cool to blast the paint at my face. I actually swallowed some of it and trust me... it wasn't good. So be sure to cover your mouth and try to breathe in quick breathes instead if not you might choke.

Moving on to the last station... Wow. It was red. And when I say red, I mean really, really sharp red. It covered all the other colours! It was the last station so everyone spent a super long time there picking up the paint from the floor and throwing it at strangers. Jo and I actually started throwing it at people and screaming HAPPY COLOUR RUN. Well we ran away after that in case they threw some back at us hahaha! Oh THIS IS THE BEST PART. Before the run, they told us to photo bomb photos hehehe. So when 1 idiot started screaming PHOTOBOMB, everyone screamed PHOTOBOMBBBB and squeezed into photos. I lost count of how many times we went round photobombing people. We were actually looking out for those taking photos haha! So there were actually quite a lot of group photos with strangers but unfortunately, I don't have 1 in my phone. I was part of the retards running around photobombing. Hopefully the person who has it would upload on IG and hashtag colorrunsg so that I can see it!

(Jo blew paint at them hehe)

Now you know what I mean by red is overwhelming... It covered all the other colours! Rifdi actually threw red paint at my face so my whole face was covered red and you could only see my eyes. HAHA if I saw myself at night, I would actually scream. I pretty much look like a ghost but oh well. Totally worth it. We decided to walk back using the beach instead so that we can take some photos there. At the beach, we continued photo bombing people. There were sooooo many people doing jump shots and when the person said 3, we ran in a jumped behind them HAHA. The person taking the photos looked to his friends and said, check out the ppl behind you haha! Here are some more photos of us covered in red!

It was really a beautiful sight at the beach because we made it just in time for the sunset!

So just to show you guys the amount of paint we got through, here is a photo of us before

and after!

We went back to the place where it started and it was time for the after party! All of us were given a pack of paint and of course, Rifdi had to get the one with red paint. We became even more red!!! Hahaha! Everyone was throwing it in the sky and it was really beautiful. But I must say that the floor was really dirty. It was all colourful(not pretty actually) and everyone just threw their rubbish on the floor. Hello there's a bin for a reason -.- Haha we didn't stay for long cause we were really hungry. Left at about 7.30pm and went to bathe.

Well just for those who are going to the event today, here are a few tips!
1. Wear shades as much as you can! Especially if you're at the stations. If not you can just take it off when you're walking to another staion.
2. Bring as little things as you can cause lockers are limited! There will be stations for drinks.
3. DON'T PUT TOO MUCH RED PAINT ON YOURSELF. IT'S RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO REMOVE. I'm a walking lobster now. I shampooed thrice, conditioned once, scrubbed my bod for half an hour, washed my face with facial wash twice and I'm still pink.
4. Breathe quick breathes at colour station to avoid the risk of choking!
5. Bring a zip lock bag for your phone if you're planning to take pictures.
6. And most importantly, HAVE AN AWESOME, COLOURFUL DAY TODAY!
