Disney Planes: Say It With Planes

Hey guys! I'm back with a Plane-tastic news for you! See what I did there (;

I'm sure most of you are fans of Disney movies. Now who wouldn't be! Disney is practically my childhood. From Monsters Inc to Cars, I've been catching every single movie. It's nice to let the inner kid in you out once in awhile. Moreover, Disney movies are so heartwarming. I was just talking to Jolene about Disney after our Econs test and she still rmb how she cried so badly as a kid watching Monsters Inc cause they destroyed the door. Boohoo ):

I'm glad to say that Disney is back with another movie! This movie is called Planes and it's basically about a plane, Dusty, who dreams of competing in the most exciting round-the-world air race in history. However there is just one big obstacle in his way – Dusty is afraid of heights!

Doesn't Dusty look adorable? The movie is about finding your inner strength to overcome obstacles and succeeding with the help of your good friends. I'm sure all of us have our own obstacles, be it studies or relationship but what's most important if to find the courage to face it. I know this is easier said than done. Trust me, it took me forever to find my inner strength but as hard as it seems, it remains a fact that if you nvr try to overcome an obstacle, it remains an obstacle.

You can check out the trailer to find out more!

Let me share a little story my yoga teacher shared with us on Wed. Yoga might seem like a really slack activity, but it teaches me a lot of values. The most important is that we need to push ourselves in order to improve. The yoga poses we do, requires flexibility which I'm sure we all know = pain. Hahaha! Ironically, the only way to to decrease the pain is to do it more often in order to become more flexible. Aside from the fact that I'll become more flexible, it also teaches me the importance of facing my fears. One day, when I can do all the poses without aching(which I'm sure will happen someday), I'll look back at all the aches I've been through and know that it was all worth it.

As this movie is about inspiration, I thought I should share who inspired me to pursue my dream. I'm sure all of you know, I'm a dancer. My teacher is definitely my inspiration. When I first joined ballroom/ latin dance, it was out of interest. However, we all know that interest is short lived and eventually, it's because you love what you are doing that keeps you going on. My teacher not only taught my techniques to improve my steps, she also had constant talks with me, as if I'm her daughter! She truly cares for each one of us and I'm grateful for that. She once shared with me what separates an excellent dancer from a good dancer. It's the passion that he/she has for dancing. When you do have the passion, you can achieve things you nvr thought you could. She's my inspiration because of what she embodies. She doesn't believe that anyone of us is a bad dancer. As long as we have the drive and passion, we all have the potential to be an excellent dancer.

So I'm sure all of us can relate to this movie. Disney Planes is organising a contest for all of you Disney lovers out there! You can stand to win movie passes & exclusive premiums! Other prizes include Disney's Planes kid T-shirt, Disney Planes holographic stickers and Disney's Planes metallic cover notebook. When I was a kid, I always made sure to buy an up size popcorn combo in order to get the merchandise hahaha! I'm sure your little brother and sisters will be happy to receive these items too! And if you do win the tickets, you can bring a friend out to catch the movie with you(:

How to take part in the contest? It's really simple and I took part in it too! Click here to go to the Facebook Page of the contest. Follow the instructions there and you're done! Basically you are given the opportunity to send a personalised message to a Facebook friend. I tried it out and sent one to my sister hahaha! Btw, I chose Rochelle as my plane cause she's a girl and pink! :D

So what are you waiting for! Catch “Disney’s Planes” in Singapore cinemas this 5 September 2013! For more updates, like the Official Walt Disney Studios Singapore Facebook Page, follow @disneystudiosSG and subscribe to the Official Disney Studios Singapore YouTube Channel!

This week has got to be the most stressful week of my JC life so far. I have 3 tests this week and my brain feels like it's gng to explode. Not to mention the unhappiness of having to go to school on a Sat to take an Econs test. I mean I probably would be okay with going to school on a sat is it was for a lecture but no, it is for a test D:

So in between of wanting to pull my hair out cause I can't rmb anything Econs related and the occasional "it's okay Angie, it will be worth it" chanting, I decided to do a blog post to make this headache go away. Yes I've been having a really bad headache for the past few days and the medicine isn't working. Hopefully it'll be gone after I'm done with the test!

Okay back to an ootd post! I wore this outfit for Phantom of the Opera last week! Decided to go all black to fit the serious mood of Phantom. In fact a lot of audience were wearing black hahaha. I was looking through my wardrobe and I realised that I don't really have a lot of apparels that were black so I decided to ransack my sister's clothes. I saw this maxi skirt hanging and I originally thought that it would probably be too long for me. Unexpectedly, it fit me just fine! In fact, I can wear this maxi skirt without heels which is really weird cause I'm really petite haha! But this is the very first maxi skirt I've found that can fit me so yay!

The best thing about a maxi is that is creates an illusion of longer legs. It "cuts off" your body to form that illusion and that's totally fine with me because I have a long body and short legs. Hahaha I honestly would rather have long legs and a short body but unfortunately, that didn't happen to me.

A lot of my friends asked if this was a dress but nope! It's a top and dress. I found this top which also belongs to my sister(I love having a sister to share clothes with) and decided to wear it. On normal days, I probably won't wear it cause it's quite long and looks pretty mature. It just isn't my style but I thought it would be good to look a little more mature for Phantom. I know JL was gng to dress up for Phantom as well so we can both look older than we really are tgt :D

Paired it with a pair of black heels and clutch and I was good to go! Btw, I haven't used this clutch since graduation last year. That was a year back. Glad I found an opportunity to bring it out!

Went to the airport for a study date yesterday and I thought it was the right opportunity to wear this parka! I felt like I was going to travel overseas! How I wish I can buy an air ticket for an impromptu trip but it's ok... At least I get to dress like I'm traveling.

MAD, INSANE, CRAZY love for this parka! I saw it on the preview a week back but originally didn't want to get it cause I thought it would be big. Before Colour Run last week, we went to Vivo to shop around and my sister saw this piece! She tried it on and knew she had to get it hehehe. I love having a sister cause I can share clothes with her yay! Well the sleeves are a little too long for me(as expected) but it looks just fine when I fold it up. I honestly think that rolled up sleeves look so much nicer and less shabby.

This piece comes in 3 colours, brick, olive and green. All 3 colours are really nice but I told my sister to get olive cause it has more of a 'parka feel' HAHAHA. This parka is unisex actually so she got 1 for Rifdi as well! Now they have matching parkas lol. She got him the brick one in size L. The sizing are almost the same actually. If I'm not wrong, the only difference is the sleeve length which doesn't really matter cause you can just roll the sleeves out. You know what that means... She get to wear his parka as well!

The collection was called Borrowed from the Boys and it really suits the items they were selling! This parka is definitely a must keep. The material is thick and the drawstring accentuates your waist line. Hence it doesn't look too overwhelming. Especially for petite girls. Never ever look too bulky. You're clothes will 'overwhelm' your physique and you'll look like you're being 'pulled down'. Planning on bringing this piece to Shanghai for SRGCE :D

On a side note, am going for Phantom of the Opera tonight! So excited!!!

Started off the day rather unpleasantly today. Wasn't feeling well at school and my stomach was killing me. Pretty sure I ate smth wrong but I'm feeling a lot better now. Hopefully the pain won't come back!

I'm comfortably seated on my massage chair as I blog about this outfit. Probably gona be an early night for me cause school has been draining me of all my energy. Can't wait for the Sept hols! Thought I should brighten up my day cause there's no point feeling crappy right? (:

I wore this comfy outfit out last weekend to the park to bring my dogs out! What's the most important thing about dressing for a walk in the park? Comfort. I knew I was gng to wear a pair of shorts and probably flip flops out on this day so I thought it would be appropriate to dress down. Now that's smth you don't hear me say often but you can still look good dressing down guys. This white top was perfect for this date! It wasn't too flimsy and neither was it too formal. I love tops like this where it isn't too overboard but isn't too slack as well. Moreover, the laser cut details at the bottom of it is really pretty! Kind of adds a little feminine touch to it don't you think?

You'll nvr ever catch me gng out in a plain T shirt and shorts. Well unless I'm gng out for awhile. I always get asked the question why don't you wear T shirts? T shirts generally just doesn't appeal to me. I'm someone who loves dressing up! I'm sure it's no surprise that I love clothes hahaha. I mean there's no point keeping them in your wardrobe and not wearing them out! I guess T shirts are too boring for me.

Okay anw, I saw this top at X blog shop and it was selling it at $25. I thought it was an okay price cause that's generally what the prices are. Until I checked out another web that was selling it at only $13.50. Not a lot of price difference BUT I can imagine how cheated I would feel if I bought it from X blog shop. Which brings me to my next point. I bought this top from stargazingwithyou.com and you guys should check it out cause it lives true to it's motto! They are a genie for our wallets hehehe. If you're wondering about the quality, it's really good actually. I wasn't expecting fabulous cutting cause it was pretty cheap. This top definitely surprised me and the laser cute details are too pretty to give it a miss! One of the best and most worth it buys ever.

And my love for Zara continues... This pair of denim shorts are from Zara! My sister got them at a sale actually. I just love Zara sales! I nvr fail to find smth I like at a good price. I mean I don't mind paying for the original price but who doesn't love sales right? Can't wait for the GSS at the end of the year to start!

On a side note, I'm preparing for my promos now so I probably won't be gng out that often. Don't get me wrong. I'm not the mugger kind of student so I will still go out! Just not that often hahaha. I always believe that it's important to balance our studies and other commitments that I have ie. family and friends. People always ask me how do I cope with my studies while enjoying life at the same time. The answer is really simple actually, you only live life once. Greet everything with a smile and do the best you can. My parents recently told me about a friend of ours that passed away due to a car accident. It really dawned upon me that you'll nvr know what will happen the next day. We all know this but unless it happens to someone you know, it just doesn't seem real. My heart goes out to their family and it really saddens me that her son is actually the same age as me. Well live life to the fullest and learn to appreciate every single joy and even sorrow in life (:

Color Run: Happiest 5k on the planet!

Hey guys! As most of you know, I went for the Color Run yesterday! Just cancelled smth off my bucket list hehehe. Wanted to blog about this event yesterday night but I was way too tired. Weird how I didn't run at all but my muscles were aching. Probably cause we had to walk uphill at some parts.

Throughout the whole car ride, we were all really excited and started taking retarded videos in order to make a collage for our instavid. We just learnt yesterday that you can actually combine different videos together to make an instavid! A little slow, I know.

The event was opened at 2pm, warm up started at 4pm and the actual run started at 5pm. We got to Sentosa at about 3plus and it was pretty empty then actually. There were maybe about a few hundreds there. Sounds quite a lot but there were actually more than 8000 people who signed up so it was quite a small number in proportion. There's no point going so early unless you want to rent a locker. Lockers are limited so it's good to go early to chope one hahaha. We checked out the different booths then went to the beach cause we had nth else better to do. Started taking photos, playing tic tac toe and talking about the run.

Then we went back to all the booths again to take some photos! It was a little more crowded at 4 plus. There were so many people wearing tutus!!! I kind of wanted to get one too but decided not to waste the money cause I would only wear it once haha. But it'd be really cute if you decide to get one. JL bought a tutu and is gng for the run today! Can't wait to see how cute she'll look like! Some people even wore the tutus on their heads. Especially the guys. It was so hilarious and they were definitely the centre of attention. Speaking of attention, many people wore crazy outfits! Some wore minnie mouse ear headbands, shrek headbands and knee length socks. 1 guy even dressed up as an easter bunny!!! He wore a white tank with a shiny bow tie and had bunny ears on. Oh yeah! He even had a lace umbrella. He wins the best outfit ok. Hahaha. So here are some photos of how the place looks like to give you all an idea.

You know the tattoos we have on our faces? Almost all runners were wearing it because it was included in the race pack. Well most of us had it on our faces but this fella decided to be unique and had it on his nose...

There were also people working there who were ridiculously dressed haha! They were sooooo colourful! They were basically there for you to take a photo with them so we did!

Punctually at 4pm, the warm up started! It was actually really fun. Kind of like Aces Day dance but everyone was doing it. I mean if you signed up for this race, you're probably the enthu kind hahaha. Everyone there was so pumped up and you honestly won't care how you look. Such a rare sight to see in Singapore actually cause everyone has the omg I'm gona be an embarrassment so I shall not do it cause I'm too cool for it attitude. Hahaha well throw that away at this event! You're bound to have a good time. The warm up only lasted for about 10 mins sadly. So after that, we just sat on the floor like hobos and started taking photos.

At 5pm, the race started! As there was a huge number of people, we ran in groups. You just have to queue up and they'll split you guys. Maybe about 100 plus people in a group? I joined the queue at about 5.20pm and we were in group 7. There was still A LOT of people behind us in the queue. If I'm not wrong, the last group ran off at about 5.40pm. It's really up to you when you wana go for it. Just a little tip, you should try to be in first 3/4 cause towards the end, there isn't lots of paint left. If you're the first few, you'll be sprayed with freaking lots of paint. Yay! Finally it was time for our group to go off!

For the first few 100 metres, we were all super clean. Tourists kept cheering on for us and so many people were taking photos and videos. Well it must be their lucky day if they decided to go to Sentosa that day cause they could witness the event! There were so many of them stretching out their hands and screaming HI 5!!! The runners were all super pumped and you can always hear people screaming. Finally, we reached the first station. It was the purple station! Okay another tip, you NEED to get a pair of shades for the run. If the paint enters your eye, it hurts really bad. Luckily for us, we all had our shades on. So we all happily went round getting colour blasted. It was so funny cause there were people on the floor rolling around to get more paint on them. So YOLO! We joined along and rolled our way to the end of the station.

I know it says a run but really, almost everyone was walking. We only ran when we heard people screaming in front cause that means that the next station is up! So after being covered in purple paint, everyone stopped at a corner to take pictures haha. It totally isn't a run actually. It's more of a walk, scream, cheer, roll on the floor, take pictures kind of event. My kind of event. Hehehe :D So we started walking up hill(super tiring I know) and talking. After about 10 mins of walking, we heard screaming! You know what that means... next station is near! So we all jogged to it and it was the blue station.

Time for photo taking moments again! We saw this really funny sign and knew we had to take photos with it. I mean just look at it!

And more photos...

Continued the run (or walk in our case) and we finally reached the point where they were giving out drinks. All of us stopped for a drink cause the weather was quite hot and we wanted to keep hydrated. Then we reached the yellow station! Yellow yellow dirty fellow quack quack.

I really like the mixture of this 3 colours actually. All of them were pretty light so it wouldn't 'cover' the colours we were sprayed with beforehand. As compared to the last station... Well you'll see what I mean later. So we decided to snap a few more shots cause the colours blend really well together.

If you're wondering why my face was mostly purple, it's because at the first station, the worker decided it would be cool to blast the paint at my face. I actually swallowed some of it and trust me... it wasn't good. So be sure to cover your mouth and try to breathe in quick breathes instead if not you might choke.

Moving on to the last station... Wow. It was red. And when I say red, I mean really, really sharp red. It covered all the other colours! It was the last station so everyone spent a super long time there picking up the paint from the floor and throwing it at strangers. Jo and I actually started throwing it at people and screaming HAPPY COLOUR RUN. Well we ran away after that in case they threw some back at us hahaha! Oh THIS IS THE BEST PART. Before the run, they told us to photo bomb photos hehehe. So when 1 idiot started screaming PHOTOBOMB, everyone screamed PHOTOBOMBBBB and squeezed into photos. I lost count of how many times we went round photobombing people. We were actually looking out for those taking photos haha! So there were actually quite a lot of group photos with strangers but unfortunately, I don't have 1 in my phone. I was part of the retards running around photobombing. Hopefully the person who has it would upload on IG and hashtag colorrunsg so that I can see it!

(Jo blew paint at them hehe)

Now you know what I mean by red is overwhelming... It covered all the other colours! Rifdi actually threw red paint at my face so my whole face was covered red and you could only see my eyes. HAHA if I saw myself at night, I would actually scream. I pretty much look like a ghost but oh well. Totally worth it. We decided to walk back using the beach instead so that we can take some photos there. At the beach, we continued photo bombing people. There were sooooo many people doing jump shots and when the person said 3, we ran in a jumped behind them HAHA. The person taking the photos looked to his friends and said, check out the ppl behind you haha! Here are some more photos of us covered in red!

It was really a beautiful sight at the beach because we made it just in time for the sunset!

So just to show you guys the amount of paint we got through, here is a photo of us before

and after!

We went back to the place where it started and it was time for the after party! All of us were given a pack of paint and of course, Rifdi had to get the one with red paint. We became even more red!!! Hahaha! Everyone was throwing it in the sky and it was really beautiful. But I must say that the floor was really dirty. It was all colourful(not pretty actually) and everyone just threw their rubbish on the floor. Hello there's a bin for a reason -.- Haha we didn't stay for long cause we were really hungry. Left at about 7.30pm and went to bathe.

Well just for those who are going to the event today, here are a few tips!
1. Wear shades as much as you can! Especially if you're at the stations. If not you can just take it off when you're walking to another staion.
2. Bring as little things as you can cause lockers are limited! There will be stations for drinks.
3. DON'T PUT TOO MUCH RED PAINT ON YOURSELF. IT'S RIDICULOUSLY HARD TO REMOVE. I'm a walking lobster now. I shampooed thrice, conditioned once, scrubbed my bod for half an hour, washed my face with facial wash twice and I'm still pink.
4. Breathe quick breathes at colour station to avoid the risk of choking!
5. Bring a zip lock bag for your phone if you're planning to take pictures.
6. And most importantly, HAVE AN AWESOME, COLOURFUL DAY TODAY!
