Sports Luxe

Was super attracted to this top when I saw Joyce wearing it before the preview was even up! I rmb telling my sister that I must get this top and I actually had quite a hard time deciding between white and black. Followed my sister's opinion and got black in the end!

I'm wearing S for this but I probably can fit into XS snugly. I was afraid that stretch marks could be seen if it was too tight and I figured the top will look ok even if it was loose so I stuck to size S.

Oh! And can you tell but the skirt I'm wearing is only $10 hahaha! So worth it! Bugis street is really the place to go if you're looking for cheap and basic apparels. The shop that I entered happened to be having a moving out sale so everything was mad cheap. I actually bought this skirt to match another top that I own which I also got from Bugis street and I can't wait to wear that set out!

Of Floral and Lace

Messy bun don't care.

That's currently how I feel now cause I'm down with an insanely high fever. When the thermometer measured 40.3 degrees, I was quite sure that it was spoilt cause I saw it skip from 38 degrees to 39. It's suppose to skip decimal points and not a whole number! Turns out, I was really having a high fever when I got my temp measured at the clinic again. So I'm currently being suspected of having dengue/H1N1 and I was just ??? when the doctor told me. Didn't H1N1 died in 09 alr. But oh well, that's if my fever remains as high the next 3 days. So fingers crossed it'll go back down cause I really, really don't want to do a blood test!

But back to this post. I've previously saw this top from Pull and Bear but didn't get it cause I thought it was a little too pricey and it was a little long for me. So I was super glad when I saw a blogshop selling it at a much pocket friendly price. Material wise, the one from Pull and Bear was definitely nicer because it was thicker and more structured. This one was a lot thinner and slightly flimsy. Not much of an issue though cause it can't really be seen hahaha! Would choose this one over the Pull and Bear one anyday simply cause of the price.

Oh! And here's my attempt at a messy bun. Yeah... it didn't go too well cause it got really messy in the end hahaha! Problem of having too much hair. But I've just recently got a haircut so I guess I can try it again sometime soon(:

Phantom Joker Escape

(Sponsored)

I was really happy to have been given an opportunity to take part in the Phantom Joker Escape with a few other bloggers because everyone is talking about it recently and the concept sounds really cool! It's super coincidental actually cause just a day before I received an email on this, I was out with Vanessa, Shericia and Lynn and we were talking about trying it out someday!

I'm sure most of us are kind of aware about how the escape room works. You're basically put in a locked room where you have to think like detectives in order to piece the clues tgt and find a way out of the room! The Phantom Joker is actually founded by a group of real escape enthusiasts who wanted to present their own inspiration and understanding of the real escape game after trying so many in Sg and overseas. Thank god for this group of ppl cause now we get to play it too!

Here's how the place looks like. Pardon the poor lighting but it was really late when I took it so it's not really clear. It's located in the conservation house near Outram. It's super easy to get too actually and is about a 5mins walk from the MRT. Plus points for its convenient location! (Especially since most of us can't drive hahaha)

When you walk in the Phantom Joker Escape, you'll see a reception desk and the rooms can't really be seen at first. You have to walk down the hallway to go to those rooms. At the back of the place, there's also a spacious resting area and that's where I made friends with the other bloggers before the event! Since we're going to be tgt for an hr, it's best to get to know one another so things won't be awkward haha!

Here's the game master explaining the backdrop of the game. So for every room you enter, there's a story behind it. You find out information such as who died, what happened, what role you're playing etc. It's pretty interesting actually cause you get to be someone else for as long as you're in the room.

He also shared with us that they have 3 rooms with different scenarios to play. The first room (Episode 01 Mysterious Lab Lost in Time) is their most popular room because they don't use locks in there. So that means that everything is triggered by something that you do. I really wanted to go for it but it was occupied at that time so we went for the other 2 rooms instead.

We were split into 2 groups, 1 with 5 ppl each. The one I went for was Path B, The Fallen Star in the Ancient Villa. We chose that room cause the game master did say that the other room is scarier. It isn't like horror kind of scary but we're just all really timid so we took the safer route hahaha! It'll definitely be fun though if you're up for those kind of things!

So we were brought inside a room and given walkie talkies to call for help if we needed. We were given 2 chances to use it and in the end, we used all of it haha! Both times, the game master came in and walked us through the steps. He didn't just gave us the answers but guided us through it instead. So that's really nice cause then you get to try it out still! I won't reveal the details cause that it won't be fun for you guys to try it out if you know what's gng to happen. I'll reveal this though that everything is not what it seems.

My group all cracked our brains trying to solve the puzzles and had so much fun in the process! It's just such a great sense of achievement for being able to solve even 1 puzzle. Unfortunately, we didn't manage to escape (boohoo). But the game master did come in after to explain to us how to solve the last puzzle which we were stucked at and it was the "ohhhh" moment when we realised.

Well here are some photos from inside the room. I only took photos of certain items to give you an idea of what you can expect so that I won't spoil the fun! Oh yeah, do note that usually, you aren't allowed to bring your phones or cameras in! They do have lockers for you to place your bags so it wouldn't be a hassle for you to carry it around (:

If you're close to solving the mystery and are running out of time, don't fret cause the staff there are really friendly and will usually provide addition gaming time if you ask!

And here's my group for the day (except for Corliss) and I made friends with all of them!

And here's a really cute chalk board at the entrance!

If you're interested in checking this place out, here are the price rates!

Mon-Fri 12.30pm-6pm: $22/pax
Mon-Fri 6pm-10.30pm: $28/pax
Sat, Sun, PH 11am-10.30pm: $28/pax

Personally, I think that Phantom Joker Escape is definitely a suitable place for corporate events or for team building purposes. You really have to work tgt to try and escape the room so teamwork is essential! It's also definitely a good alternative from the usual movie and shopping dates. It gives you a better sense of satisfaction! I'm looking forward to coming here with my group of friends one day for a change!

Tropical Blues

Guess who got her early birthday present from mummy! I've been eyeing on this Kate Spade bag ever since I saw Andrea's photos. It's just so pretty and perfect for sunny Singapore! Personally, I do feel it's a little pricey for it's material but oh well, it's just too pretty to give a miss.

Oh! And the dress I'm wearing was bought on the same day as well. My family went crazy shopping over the hols and we all managed to buy stuff! Don't you just love sales? It's kind of like a trap cause you end up spending more than you normally would but.... you get such good deals! Got this dress from Stradivarius at $50! I don't usually wear tube dresses/shirts but I thought I should give it a try at the dressing room anw since I was trying on other clothes. And now, I'm addicted to finding such apparels!

I also kind of miss my bangs but I'll probably cut it back after prom hahaha. In the mean time, getting used to being able to see my eyebrows again. A little heads up! There'll be a post on 2 Escape games that I went for soon so keep a look out for that!

Nakhon

Checked out Nakhon last Friday with Jo after school ended. Back to our usual Friday lunch dates! Hehehe love days like this when we end early.

Initially, we thought of walking from our school to Nakhon but then it started to rain so we decided to take a bus instead. It's really near our school actually and it's just 2 bus stops away! (Kovan MRT) And after a 5mins we were there!

Nakhon isn't very big but luckily for us, there were seats available! Guess it's cause it's a Friday and almost everyone is at school or work so we didn't have to wait!

Thai Style Fried Kway Teow ($4)

My sister gave me the ??? look when I told her I got Char Kway Teow at Nakhon. Who goes to a Thai place to get this right? But in my defence, it said Thai Style Char Kway Teow. Turns out, it was just ordinary CKT with Thai chilli at the side. It's quite good though but you probably wouldn't want to go all the way to a Nakhon to get this cause you can get it at any hawker centre hahaha.

Pad Thai ($5)

Now this is what you should be getting at Nakhon! Their Pad Thai is really superb and 10x better than the one my school sells. This happens to be Jo's favourite dish to order at a Thai restaurant as well(: Oh yeah! The chilli is insanely spicy though. I tried a little and gulped down a whole glass of water after hahaha!

Red Ruby ($3)

I'm not a fan of Red Ruby cause I have sensitive teeth and it's so torturous to eat it. Well basically I don't eat anything with lots of ice such as Ice Kachang, Snow Ice etc. It'll definitely appeal to all of you who likes cold desserts though!

Mango Sticky Rice served with Coconut Milk ($5)

And here's the main reason why I wanted to check out Nakhon. I've been having a craving for Mango sticky rice ever since 2 weeks back when I had one at Outram area. It's just so yummy and I can't have enough of it! I was super excited to finally be able to eat it again but turns out... it was really disappointing. The glutinous rice wasn't sweet at all. To be frank, it's just tasteless. The mango wasn't as sweet as the one I had before too. I'm so going to go back to the shop at Outram I chanced upon one day!

PSB Academy: Diploma in Retail Management

(Sponsored)

Hello everyone! I'm particularly excited to write up this post cause I find it especially relevant to me and I guess all my friends too cause we're at that age where we are thinking about what to study and what to do in life. I'm guessing most of my viewers are around my age as well so this post is definitely fun to write up cause it's relatable to most of us! (:

So for starters, a little background on PSB.

For 50 years, PSB Academy has been successfully providing students with diverse opportunities to be keen learners. PSB Academy’s Certificates and Diplomas are widely recognised by some of the best universities in the world. They lead to advanced standing in various established institutions and are articulated to more than 20 overseas universities including their renowned university partners in Australia and the UK. Being awarded 4 years EduTrust Certification, it distinguishes PSB as a leading provider of quality education, and affirms students of their stability, and commitment to their learning and welfare.

Personally, I've always wanted to do something related to business. I won't go as far as to say that I know what post I want to be, how much I want to earn and stuff like that but for now, I'm thinking about something to do with fashion. I'm sure all of you know I really like to shop and it's my dream job to be able to see, touch, feel clothes everyday hahaha! So I can see myself attending such a course because it'll definitely boost my career! Moreover, there's nvr any harm in studying more right? It's always good to have such a diploma under your belt!

PSB Academy offers a wide range of courses but today, I'll be talking specifically about their Diploma in Retail Management. This programme is ideal for those who want to equip themselves with comprehensive retail management knowledge to deal effectively with the rapidly changing retail scene.(Me me me!) It offers a unique opportunity for students to enhance their understanding of the ‘whole retail enterprise’ in its competitive situation.

Sounds pretty interesting right?

Basically at the end of this course, you'll be able to:
-Understand the theory and practical of specific functional management areas
-Understand how to plan more effectively, solve organisational problems and contribute towards making management decisions
-Apply specific functional management skills to increase the opportunity and business efficiency in their areas of responsibility
-Assume higher levels of responsibility within specific functional management areas as a result of newly acquired/improved skills

They also have a full-fledge campus, complete facilities, friendly lecturers (supper, mega important), vibrant student life and of course! Make new friends! Making friends is always the best part of your school life cause they're the ones who will be with you throughout your years in school! Trust me when I say friends are really important(:

You're eligible for it as love as you're an O/N/A-level/ITE holder! It can be completed in as short as 14 months and upon successful completion of this programme, graduates can gain entry into our Year 2 degrees from Edinburgh Napier University, UK!

(Credits to www.getting-in.com)

And that's a photo of Edinburgh Napier Uni! Just wow. How much prettier can a university get?! It looks like it's from a painting hahahaha. Now I wish I can travel overseas.

Well anw, if you're interested to find out more, you can read more about it here! And for those who are more interested in the student's life, you can read more here! It's possible for you to embark on your part-time diploma journey with PSB Academy! (:

Oh yeah! I heard that the next intake is in Sept 2014 so do keep a lookout for it if you're interested! In fact, sign up and you can get up to 95% funding!

White Petals

It's been a really, really long time since I've went out with my fringe tied/pinned up. I think it's been about 2 years actually haha! You know how everyone has a 'good' side? My fringe kind up covers my 'bad' side so I seldom pin it up. But for some reason, I just felt like pinning it up so I did a french braid on my fringe and curled my hair! It's so much easier to curl it now that my hair is so much shorter than in the past!

One good thing about shopping on Carousell is that you can find mass manufactured stuff at a much cheaper price than blog shops! I got this dress at $20 and it would probably have cost around $30 if I bought it at a normal blogshop. Not that I mind the price difference cause it isn't that much but it's just that I get so annoyed when I see a better deal somewhere else hahaha! Please tell me I'm not the only one who feels this way!

Decided to keep it comfy and casual and wore my matching Toryburch sandals and bag! I bought them separately but it just so happens that the colours match so I tend to wear them tgt. Oh anw, I think I look even younger with my fringe up like that hahaha. I look like I'm 14.

Do you prefer me with my fringe up or down?
