Lacein Around

Really happy with this set of photos taken from my new camera(: Learnt how to use some of the functions to adjust lighting today haha! I nvr knew my camera had them. I really should experiment the functions available one day!

Today's post features a casual blue top from Ellysage. I don't usually shop from their blogshop but I decided to check them out when they were having their sale awhile back! Managed to cart this top out for only $9.90!!! It's so ridiculously cheap. Don't you just love sales? If you follow me on my instagram, you'll probably realise that this top might look a little familiar. I wore it with a pair of shorts for a more casual look awhile back! Tops like this are just the best - ultra comfy and they go with everything!

For a really sweet look today, I paired it with a lace skirt from TBI. This is actually the only white skater skirt I own. I love the intricate lace detail of it which is actually what captivated me to get it. It's really pretty and it just says sweet everywhere! Haha! The details are really what differentiates it from normal skater skirts.

My espadrilles are made of lace too! Forgot to capture a close up of it but basically it's made of lace so it's see through. So here's today's quick get up! Pulled this outfit together in less than 10 mins cause I was running late for my movie! Btw, The Other Woman is really funny and it's a really great movie to watch with your friends (especially girls) if you're looking for smth light hearted(:

Speaking about movies, I've recently watched Spider Man's sneak preview! I've nvr watched any of the Spider Man movies before. Well I guess I've caught a glimpse of random sections of the movie when it was screening on Channel 5 quite awhile back. This movie is definitely worth watching! 3D makes it look a lot nicer too! Just take note that there aren't any post credit scenes!

The Coffee Daily

And Jolene and I are back to our usual Friday brunch date before CCA! This time, we checked out The Coffee Daily after googling for brunch places at Kovan/Serangoon area. We found out more about the place and all we noticed were all the pretty photos of their rainbow cake haha! That really was what made me decide to go there today.

While walking out of school, we actually bumped into Hui Jie and Lynn who decided to join us for brunch! It's amazing how the 4 of us know each other. Just like us, HJ and Lynn are best friends! So let's do a little mapping. I knew Lynn since P5 and we've been in the same school ever since. I knew HJ cause of Lynn but only talked to her when we ended up in the same group for SRGCE. That's how Jolene knew her too! Jo had always known Lynn was my good friend and we always bump into each other at the washroom (I really have no idea why). All of us also happen to be in the same lecture hall for History. We also always bumped into each other during Lit Night rehearsals. And somehow, one way or another, we just know each other haha!

The Coffee Daily is a really small cafe actually. They can probably fit around 20 ppl indoors and 8 ppl outdoors. It'll definitely be hard to find seats during the weekends! Luckily for us, today is a Friday so we didn't have to wait for seats! Actually, everyone there were doing their work or studying except for us. We were just happily talking away.

Despite the small area, I really like this cafe cause it gives off a really cosy feeling! The cafe is mainly white based which gives off a really 'clean' look. I kind of want my future room to look somewhat like this!

They offered free flow of our favourite childhood biscuits! I was so happy when I saw them! Haven't had them for a really long time! All of us took a plate each and went back twice to get more of it hehe. Jo was saying how this is quite a smart idea cause in a way, it makes customers feel more at home. Moreover, they really don't cost that much cause they're traditional snacks. (Econs thinking caps on)

Roasted Chicken Slices and Cheese and Americano ($12)

Jo, HJ and Lynn all got this set! Didn't try it cause it had vege in it. I really don't like raw vege hahaha. But I know the salad is good cause Jo said it was! Coming from Jo, she must really mean it. I actually gave her all my greens. There were 3 types of bread to choose from but I only can rmb croissant cause that's what I got haha! This set comes with a cup of Americano too. I checked and Americano cost $4 on the menu. You could change your drink but you'd have to top up the difference.

Ham, Egg and Cheese Sandwich and Americano ($12)

Here's what I got! I wouldn't say this was fantastic but it wasn't bad as well! Average I guess! I chose croissant cause I had no idea what the other 2 types of breads were. We were actually looking us images of them cause none of us really knew what it was haha! I do like the fact that it comes with chips though! Finished them all hehe. This definitely wouldn't be able to keep someone full for long though.

Matcha Latte ($6)

I changed my drink and topped up a difference of $2(: This drink was a little too bitter for my liking. I guess it's really cause I'm not a huge fan of matcha? Haha! I didn't manage to finish it cause it kind of got even more bitter towards the bottom.

Over the Rainbow Cake ($10)

And here's the highlight of our meal!! We were all satisfied and full after our meal but we just had to check this out! Priced at $10, it might seem a little expensive at first. I actually got a shock after finding out the price but to be fair, the portion is huge! Definitely not something 1 person can finish it his/herself unless you have a sweet tooth! 4 of us shared it so it was really worth it.

One thing to note about The Coffee Daily is that they have a really limited choice of food. There's actually only 4 choices on the menu. 2 of them are featured here while the other 2 are your typical brunch eggs, sausage etc. The do have an extensive range of drinks though and I guess they focus more on their coffee. I'm not a coffee fanatic so I can't really tell what constitutes of a good coffee but do let me know if you do! Would love to hear from you(:

Pebbles

Wore this comfy outfit out on Good Friday for a day of shopping at Orchard with Jolene and Ben! Have been planning it for quite some time and I'm glad my toothache didn't stop me from gng(:  Had this top for a few months and have nvr really found a chance to wear it out. My stack of new clothes is piling up but I can't seem to stop shopping #shopaholicproblems

I really love the 'box' structure of the top. I've previously bought Love Bonito's quilted top as well but sold it cause I didn't really like how it stuck to my body. I prefer these kind of tops loose. Moreover, the 'box' structure goes really well with a pair of shorts or even a bandage skirt.

Decided to go with grey and white tones that day and I'm actually quite surprised I even managed to find a pair of shoes with that colour! I haven't worn this pair for quite some time cause I actually left it in my store room due to a lack of space haha! I was cleaning out my stuff and found this pair! Don't you just love how you find things you forgot when you pack your stuff?

Snapback

So like I'm down with a 'tooth infection'. Well that's in inverted commas cause technically, it isn't called that but the dentist didn't tell me exactly what it is so let's just stick with that. I'm really nervous right now cause I need to go for a root canal treatment and when the dentist was explaining to me the whole process, I think I might have suffered from a panic attack.

Yesterday when I was at school, my front tooth started hurting like crazy. It was really weird cause just a few hours ago, I was happily munching on biscuits. The crispy kind. But during lunch, I couldn't really bite cause my tooth felt like it's going to explode. It basically felt like there's a blue black on my tooth and someone was pressing on it the whole time. I couldn't take it anymore and left school early to go straight to the dentist.

And the result? He told me that the nerve on my gum is dead. That basically means that my tooth lost its vitality. So because there are dead nerves, it attracts bacteria and hence, becomes 'infected'. The only way to really solve it is to go for the root canal treatment. He did give me painkillers though but it wasn't really helpful. Last night, I couldn't even pronounce certain words cause it would hurt my tooth. Hahaha super funny and weird but yeah.

For the next few days, all I can eat is liquid stuff. It feels like braces all over again haha! So maybe I'll lose weight over the next few days? Haha! Well but jokes aside, the pain is really killing me and I didn't go to school today. I couldn't even if I wanted to cause there's nth I can eat in school and since lessons are till 4pm, I would probably have fainted haha!

If you're curious about what causes a 'tooth infection', well, I asked my dentist too. It isn't cause of cavity. There are several reasons for it actually. It could be because I bite too hard, had strong pressure applied on my teeth aka bump my mouth, old history of 'infected tooth', hereditary etc. I don't know what the reason for mine is cause none of the above applies for me though.

On a lighter note, here's what I wore last Sunday! Featuring a mesh top from Missypixie, monochrome skirt from Bershka, my all time favourite JC espadrilles and a snapback from TTR. Recently, the mesh top/dress/skirt craze has taken over the fashion industry and my sister bought this top! It's really pretty but mesh material tends to itch. It was a little uncomfortable and I'm glad I was only out for a few hours. This skirt is my short-skirt-don't-care skirt haha! It's ultra short and I'm quite sure no one taller than me will be able to wear it.

And here's my new camera! Have always wanted a compact camera which produces quality images similar to that of a DSLR. My DSLR is just too big and heavy to be bringing it wherever I go so this is a good alternative(:

Well there's 2 more days to my treatment and thinking about the injection is just so frightening. I've nvr had one on my gum before and even those on my arm freaks me out. Ahhhhh!

S.E.A Aquarium: Date with the fishies

Back during the March hols, I finally paid SEA Aquarium a visit with my family! It was a new experience for all of us cause none of us have been there before. It was a really nice family outing and we all looked super tourisy haha! Well I mean both my aunts were here and they were on a vacation so there was lots of photo taking gng on!

Rifdi dove us to Sentosa in his 7 seater car so all of us could ride tgt! We were originally planning to drive 2 cars cause of the lack of seats but now, we could all sit tgt. It's a lot more fun that way cause we could chat and snap photos. Kind of felt like a road trip actually!

One thing really strange about the carpark at RWS. It's only one level but it's really, really big. There's actually a shuttle bus service that drives you within the car park! So you see random shuttle bus stops along the way in the carpark itself. Yup, that's how big the car park is. Despite the size of it, we had a little trouble finding a lot. It kind of felt like we were just going round in circles cause we couldn't go up or down haha! Our lot was quite a distance from the entrance so we took about 7 mins to walk over. All of us also made it a point to rmb where we parked cause if we forgot, we would have to spend hours trying to find the car haha!

We went for lunch at the food court near USS. It's a really cool place actually which sells local food. The setting of it takes you back to the 70s (think shop houses) and even the store names are unique as well!

After lunch, we headed out and took some photos with the USS globe!

Check out my aunt in the last photo. She looks totally like a tourist with her sun hat and new balance kicks haha! We walked over the the aquarium which wasn't too far away. It was only about a 5 mins walk. After entering, I was a little taken aback actually. I was expecting it to be like Underwater World where you'll be greeted by tanks and tanks of fishes. For SEA Aquarium, the front part of it is actually somewhat like a museum. There were lots of artifacts and pictures of how fishing was like in the past. Quite a cool experience actually!

To be honest, I didn't read any of the description. Don't lie, you know you wouldn't too hahaha. I was just looking at all the display. It was really nicely done up! Neatly organised by the different countries.

At the end, there would be an escalator down that takes you to where all the fishes are! That's where all the selfie with the fishes started happening hahaha! The only downside was that the lighting wasn't good so most photos were quite blur and grainy. Tried my best to capture nice photos of the fishes nevertheless!

And here's where we decided to stop to take a break. There were benches at this spot so it was a nice place to rest. Did I forget to mention that there's a cotton candy cart here too! We ended up buying 2 cotton candy cause we're such kids.

And back to our fish adventure...

And that's it folks! Haha that was the end of our aquarium trip. My sister, Rifdi and I ended up buying Gelato ice cream cause the store was convenintly located right at the end of the aquarium trail. There were so many flavours but I settled for the Gelato Bomb cause I wanted to say I have a bomb, I ate a bomb, a bomb taste good #dontjudge.

As I was happily munching away, it started to melt after awhile and started 'cracking'. Guess what, it fell on my phone. Hahaha ok don't buy a Gelato bomb if you're not a fast ice cream eater. Lesson learnt haha! Had to go to the washroom to clean up after.

So that's it! I'd say that the aquarium is worth paying a visit if you've nvr been there before! Maybe not a revisit unless you're really, really into fishes. After we left Sentosa, we headed to Gardens by the Bay. We didn't enter the dome cause we didn't see a need to and we were honestly, just exhausted and too lazy to walk around. We did snap a few photos outside the place though!
