Department Of Caffeine

I blog so often that it feels weird that I haven't blogged for a week. There's just so many things going on such as Lit Night rehearsal and orientation. I'm so busy I couldn't find time to blog about my little bro's birthday haha! Am actually ill today and just came back from the doctor. Shall blog before I sleep(:

My brother's birthday was on 3rd Feb so we went out for brunch at DOC. His birthday falls during the CNY break so that's pretty lucky! Mine falls on a holiday this year too cause of National Day in lieu holiday. Well anw, DOC isn't a really big shop so we decided to call and reserve seats. Glad that we did cause if not, we would have to wait for quite awhile. Especially since there were 6 of us and most of the tables there accommodate up to 4 people.

 Caffe Latte ($5)

Smoked Salmon Scamble ($15.50)

Both my parents ordered this dish and it was pretty good! I particularly liked the eggs. I also just realised that my parents always order the same type of food for brunch. That is scrambled eggs, toast, salmon etc. The bread was a little hard though so they didn't finish it.

Can't really remember what this was called. All I can remember is that it's really good. Definitely would recommend to those who are heavy eaters such as Rifdi who ordered this haha! Keeps you quite full and it taste nice as well. The filling is actually chicken and it was so crispy!

 Shepherd's Pie ($15.50)

This is definitely the highlight of the day. Initially, I wanted to get this but since my sister was ordering it alr I thought I might as well get smth else. I just loveeeee Shepherd's Pie. It comes with minced beef at the bottom. I'm definitely making another trip back to DOC someday for this.

Buttermilk Waffle with Butter Rum and Bananas ($13.50)
Buttermilk Waffle with Peanut Butter and Ice Cream ($13.50)

And here's what my brother and I ordered. He initially wanted to try out DOC's Valrhona Chocolate Waffle but it was unfortunately, sold out. (Obviously didn't have birthday luck hahaha) I preferred the peanut butter waffle because the other one was too sour to my liking. I cringed trying it. But according to my brother, the taste grows on you after taking a few more bites. Their waffles are no where as good as Wimbly Lu though. Wimbly Lu probably makes the crispiest waffles ever.

Happy CNY!

Last year's CNY was spent a little more special in HK with all my relatives but this year, we spent it in Singapore with my daddy coming over for a visit. I must say that this year's CNY definitely felt more festive cause of all the events my family planned(ignoring last year of course).

On CNY eve, my parents ordered food from Crystal Jade and I went along with them to collect it. I have no idea what it's called but basically it's a large dish with an assortment of food such as jelly fish, chicken, duck etc. Didn't manage to take a photo of it though cause it was gobbled down really quickly haha!

On the very first day of CNY, we went over to my mum's really good friend's house for dinner. As a little kid, I always went over to their place for sleepovers and I still remember all the crazy things I did with their kids. I remember waking up to the sound of a rooster in the morning. Yes, they have a rooster at home haha! Brings back a lot of memories to be there again(:

I also had my very first loh hei of the year at their place! It was the one and only actually haha! I'm not a huge fan of it though cause I only like the peanuts out of the whole dish but it's really fun making a huge mess and shouting random words. I was basically saying may we be prettier each year, grow taller blah blah blah along those lines. Haha! Totally random but that's the fun of it!

And for dinner, we had a nice home cooked meal(: Dinner the Chinese way.

Not forgetting the really friendly dog that we met. She was rescued from SPCA and is currently 2 years old! Super lively and friendly(: A lot more livelier than my dogs haha! But then again, my dogs are old so as long as they're healthy, I'm happy.

On the next day, I made plans to go over to Li Xian's house to visit her family. I've been to her place 2 years back for CNY too and I remember playing blackjack there haha! We did it this year again with Nicole Sim over too :D So good to meet up with them. We also went around taking photos with her lovely cousins. 2 of them are twins btw and up till now, I still can't tell who is who.

Went back home just in time for steamboat! I ate so much that day omg. I actually gained 2kg over 4 days of CNY. Don't you just love the holidays hahaha

Oh yeah, we had CNY goodies to snack on at home too. Most of them are happily in my tummy actually. During the hours when I'm home, I just lie in bed all day watching HIMYM while snacking of a jar of goodies. I can easily finish a jar of cookies within 2 hrs. That explains why I gained so much weight haha but it's only once in a year right?

So on the third day, we decided to stay at home to play mahjong and watch Runningman. Just when I thought all the feasting was over, we decided to order pizzahut delivery for dinner. I just love their crust! It's so cheesy and I honestly only eat the whole pizza for their crust haha!

The very last day of the CNY hols was my brother's birthday so we spent it having brunch at DOC. Will blog about it soon!

Ok well anw, here's some proper photos of what I wore over CNY(:

Overalls

Over the past 4 days, I've gained 2kg. Don't you just loooooove CNY? Haha!

Today is my little bro's birthday so we decided to go for brunch to celebrate(: Haven't worn this overall for such a long time and I've recently been inspired by a photo of a girl wearing an overall with a knit which explains this outfit. I actually bought this overall 2 years back. It's still one of my favourite casual wear to date(: Chose this knit cause it's the closest colour I could find that matches my espadrilles haha!

Anyway, hope everyone's doing fine and enjoying what's left of the hols for those staring JC soon! A really short post today cause I need to get back to the pile of hw on my table. Problems of a procrastinator 101.

Hey everyone! Hope you're having a wonderful CNY stuffing yourself with pineapple tarts and catching up with your friends and relatives. For those studying, I'm sure all of us have been counting down to the CNY hols since school started. I'm sure you know what I mean haha!

Here's a really sweet outfit I put tgt for the 2nd day of visiting. I initially wasn't drawn to this skirt. I mean I thought it was pretty but a little too girly. After contemplating, I finally decided to join the BO for this skirt and I'm so glad I did! I actually texted my sister that I joined the BO and she told me she knew it haha! The skirt arrived just before CNY so I thought it'd be a nice time to wear it out(:

This skirt features an intricate design of 3D rosettes. It comes in both a petite and tall version and of course I got the petite one haha! Pairing it with a plain top definitely emphasizes the details of the skirt. White would be a perfect colour in my opinion(: It's somewhat stretchy at the waist so I don't have to worry about the skirt being too tight after all the goodies I snacked on at my friend's place. I'm definitely keeping the skirt for now and can't wait to wear it out again! I'd think it'd be perfect for Valentines' Day actually.

Paired it with my worn to death LB heels and TTR clutch. I'm pretty sure I have a love hate relationship with this pair of heels. It hurts my feet so bad and I always get blisters from it but ironically, I wear it the most often. It's just so easy to match and it makes my legs look longer haha! Oh well, the price to pay for vanity. #vanityoversanity
