Chock Full of Beans

To celebrate the end of CTs, I made a brunch date with my sister the day after(: We decided to try out Chock Full of Beans after seeing their cute coffee art on IG haha! To be honest, the only reason why I really wanted to go there was to take a photo of their coffee and instagram it #confessiontime Turns out, the location was really convenient for us too! It's located at Changi and is about a 10mins drive away from our place. Perfect for a lazy day out. We were saying how we can forsee ourselves gng to Chock Full of Beans really often now that we know about this place.

Upon arriving, we managed to find a parking lot after waiting for about 10mins. The parking lot is conveniently located right next to the cafe. Most of their seats are located outdoors so I'm quite glad I tied my hair up that day haha! We didn't have to wait long as well so that's good. But anw, they have a waiting list system if it's crowded so you basically just leave down your contact number and they'll call you when it's about to be your turn.

Vanilla Latte ($5)
Rose Latte ($5.90)

And here's the really cute coffee art I was dying to see haha! There's actually a 3D coffee art too but I'm not sure what drink it's for. It's just really adorable and smth different from the usual coffee art. Their drinks comes in 2 sizes and we both got it in the smaller one.

Brulee French Toast ($9)

Here's what I got. There's 2 choices for toppings for the french toast and the one I ordered was caramelized bananas, chocolate sauce and nuts. The other topping available is peach and maple syrup. Both are served with whip cream and seasonal mixed fruits. Even though the portion seems small, it's actually really filling. Didn't manage to finish this actually! I guess it's cause it's bread. My sister ate a bite and said that she's pretty sure I won't be able to finish it hahaha

Portobello Benedict ($12)

The sister wanted eggs bennedict that day so here's what she got! Tried a bite of it and the egg was pretty good! It's quite filling too cause of the toast.

See what I mean by picture perfect? Haha! The price there is really reasonable too! Our total bill was about $32 but we were expecting it to be around $40. You know, the usual price. It usually cost about $20 per person if you order a drink as well so we were pleasantly surprised. The only tiny problem with the place is that there's flies. I mean it's outdoors so I guess that's why. We both actually got a mosquito bite on our leg after dining there haha! At a point of time, there was a small bee flying around too and I was really panicky but luckily, it didn't come over to my side. It was flying around my sister but she calmly stayed still (?) Well, as still as she could haha! The do have seats indoor too but it's quite limited!

PS. Getting used to my bangs hohoho

So if you don't alr know.... GUESS WHO GOT BANGS hahahahha. Eri was so shocked when I told him that I wanted bangs for a change. Asked him if he thinks I'll be able to pull it off and he said yes cause I have a small face(?) haha but yeah. That's the story behind how I snipped off my long fringe. What do you think?

CTs are finally over and to celebrate, I went out for brunch with my sister and put tgt this outfit in 10 mins. It's really monochrome based with accents of gold here and there. Not smth that I'd usually wear but have always wanted to try out. Got this dress from TTR and I must say, I absolutely love TTR. Their apparels can always fit me really nicely which is quite rare considering how tiny I am. To all my petite girlfriends, you guys should shop there haha!

Now let's talk about shoes. Got this pair from LB awhile back and this is my first time wearing it out. I'm surprised that it didn't give me blisters but maybe that's cause I didn't walk round much. Definitely a keeper and it kind of reminds me of the shoes from Charles & Keith. I'm quite sure I've seen a few similar pairs there just that it's a little pricier than these. My stacking rings are from bxtwxxn and they're just so cute! Going to wear them when I go to Orchard ltr today!

New dress, new shoes, new rings, what's not to love?

Love is in the Air: 25th Wedding Anniversary

On 12/03, it was my parents' 25th wedding anniversary! 25 years is really a long time if you think about it and sadly, many couples don't last till the 25th year. So my mum suggested going out as a family to celebrate(:

One thing about my mum, she's really indecisive. When she suggested for the whole family to go out, my sister suggested for both of them to have a nice dinner instead. I mean after all, it's their wedding anniversary so they probably should spend it together on a nice date. But on that very morning, she came into my room and told us we're gng for a buffet tgt cause apparently, the day before, my dad was telling her that it wouldn't feel complete without us. Awwwww <3

Haha! Ok yeah, so that's why we all ended up gng for a buffet at Azur tgt! This is actually my third time there. The very first time was during Christmas 2 years back. Second time was during Mother's Day last year and the third time was last Wednesday(: It's just so convenient because it's at Crowne Plaza. That's the hotel at airport terminal 3 and my house is really just about 5 mins away from the airport if you drive.

Here's the cake that my sister bought. It's really hard to buy cakes when you're with the Yip family. My dad didn't want anything too sweet, my brother doesn't eat 1000000 things so my sister just bought black forest haha! I think I'm the least picky when it comes to cake. I'm generally not a huge fan of cakes so I'll just eat a slice of it anw.

And here are some photos from the buffet(:

And as usual, I clearly only eat ice cream for their toppings.

Throughout dinner, we were joking around and imagining what would happen 25 years ltr. It would be my parents' 50th wedding anniversary and by then, they would have lots of grandkids and son/daughter in law! Haha we would definitely need a larger table then :D

And here are some photos I took from Mother's day last year and Christmas 2 years back

Well my friends always ask me why I believe that happily ever after do exist and why I'm so sure there's someone out there for me. It's really cause my parents are true, living examples and I nvr believed in dating someone without truely knowing his personality. I mean, I'm no relationship guru and have nvr actually been in a relationship before but you know what I mean haha!

Literature Night'14

As promised, I'm going to blog about Lit Night! Sorry it took so long but CTs have been taking up so much of my time. My routine for the past 3 weeks is go home, study, have dinner, study, sleep. But I'm glad to say, EXAMS ARE FINALLY OVER! I can't imagine having to live this lifestyle for mid years, prelims, pre As and finally As... So I guess I have to stop procrastinating? Haha!

Well anw, on the actual day, all of us reported at LT5 at around 2.30pm to get ready. On that day, only those acts that needed last minute improvements were required to do a full run on stage. The rest of us were allowed to just sit at the seats and watch the performances. It's smth that we didn't have much chance to do actually. You would think that we would have gotten sick of watching it so many times during rehearsals but actually, a lot of us were only watching it for the first time! That's cause we were always backstage or out somewhere else rehearsing for our own act.

For the first hour, Karis, Jo and I went out of LT5 to improve on our dance. Rmb how I said our dance lacked a lot of interaction? In a sense that we just stand there and stare at each other when we have our dance off? Well we improved on that. Added steps in between to fill up the empty spaces and for better transition(:

Before the adding of the transitions, it even felt awkward for me! So we came up with some steps to remove the awkwardness. Well after perfecting our dance, we went off to have lunch! The teachers ordered pizzas for all of us so we were all outside LT5 munching away(:

Just check out how tired Phil is. I can't stop laughing at him looking at this photo haha! After that, we went backstage to get our hair and make up done. As usual, Jojo did my makeup. Ms Chew then called for all of us to go to the stage to do some warmup exercises. It wasn't compulsary for the dancers cause they were vocal exercises and well, we wouldn't be talking but we just went along anw.

After all those were done, she asked all of us to sit down and just close our eyes. She started talking about our roles and asked us to channel whatever character we were suppose to be. In my case, a sexy latin dancer. That was actually the term she used haha! Think of it as a motivational talk.

After feeling all pumped up, we went backstage to get our final touch ups. Soon enough, we started hearing voices and could hear all the buzz that was happening outside! We were all really nervous but excited at the same time! All the hard work put into this production is finally, going to pay off. Once in awhile, someone will enter the room and tell us how long the queue is. "The queue has reached the LTs" "The queue is all the way till the concourse" We were all like omggggggg, it's really happening. This is really happening. Fingers crossed that everything will go well!

Not sure if you all know this but at the room backstage, we could hear all the chattering going on. So we can hear all you guys cheering and clapping before and after a performance. It kind of adds to our adrenaline rush haha! But you guys are really a fantastic bunch of audience and believe it or not, all your claps and shouts made us feel motivated. Well for me at least.

So here's a little of what went on backstage

Not a lot of photos cause the lights were switched off soon after. Before we knew it, it was time for us to perform. We were actually the 18th act but time seems to pass by so fast that day! The wait didn't seem as long as usual. Before we went up on stage, Kenji snapped this photo for us which I really, really love. I can't explain how much I love this photo. It's really been a wonderful journey with Karis and Jolene and I wouldn't trade them for anyone!

And here's 2 videos from that day kindly filmed by Ling Tze and Carolyn!

You hear all the clapping and cheering? We could hear all you guys loud and clear on stage(: It really contributed to the dance off kind of atmosphere we were going for. Can't emphasise what a wonderful bunch you guys are! I wanted to be all like "woahhhhhh" with you guys too haha!

And to talk about the finale. I'm sure everyone remembers Matthew aka the tranny. We actually only came up with the finale that day and it was Shaw En who suggested for Matthew to walk in and we all go all hail Matthew kinda thing. I must say, he really is super spontaneous for a guy. Not all guys will be willing to do that haha! And ended with a random dance to what does the fox say which was Joel's idea(:

And that's a wrap folks!(: Went out to take some pictures with my friends after!
