Delivery Man

Hey guys! So as I've previously mentioned, I caught the sneak preview of Delivery Man thanks to the folks at Nuffnang(: I'm so excited to do a movie review about it because I just have so much to share! Well, of course I'm not going to spoil it for you guys but just to share with you all how I felt about it and what you can expect.

For those who don't know what this movie is about, check out the trailer!

Basically this movie is about how David Wozniak finds out that he is the father of 533 children due to a error made by the sperm bank. Yes, it isn't a typo but he is the father of 533 children. The movie goes on to talk about how he realises that he plays a very important role in each of their lives.

5 mins into the movie, jokes were alr made by the cast and the whole cinema was giggling away haha! It's quite a funny movie actually. I found myself laughing most of the time(: I'm a huge fan of comedy films so it did appeal to me. Don't just expect comedy but tears too! It's quite heartwarming towards the end and Lynn and I both found ourselves holding back our tears. Not going to tell you what happen cause I don't want to spoil it for you haha!

I'd definitely recommend this movie to be watched with your friends and family. It's just the kind of movie that appeals to all ages. In fact, when I watched the movie, the cinema was really filled with ppl of different ages.

Now just to share some details about the movie

Release Date: 1 Jan 2014
Genre: Comedy
Director: Ken Scott
Cast: Vince Vaughn, Chris Pratt, Cobie Smulders

Who says that just cause Christmas is over you can't hang out with your friends? Delivery Man is an amazing movie to watch and trust me when I say you won't be disappointed by it. For those who are schooling, there are just a few more days before school reopens! Why not enjoy the last bit of it by catching this movie? (:

Thor: The Dark World

Hey guys! I'm back to talk about another movie that has caught my eye and it's none other then *cues drum roll* Thor: The Dark World!!! Superhero movies are a classic and I say this with all my heart, they are never ever boring. Many of us like superhero movies for different reasons. Be it the action involved, the idea of a good person in society or even the love story that is entailed. Funny story but my PW group was talking about Thor today in school. Well Jia Lin and Lynne are obsessed with Loki and think that he's really good looking haha! They could rmb specific scenes in the trailer such as when Natalie Portman slapped Loki and he said that he likes her. Then they started spazzing out tgt haha!

There's just smth about superhero movies that draws your attention to it. Every time a new movie of this genre comes out, it tends to be a hit and is one of the block busters of the year. Remember Avengers from last year? Well you probably do because it had such a profound impact on all of us. The plot was just sooooo cool and we are all eagerly waiting for the next one to come out. In fact, for orientation this year, SR's theme was Stronger As One. This was inspired by Avengers which teaches us the power of different people coming together and being 'one'. Everyday, they would change the main character and had funny actions for them haha! Brings back so much memories(:

Well I'm sure Thor would be no different. I'm so excited to catch this movie because I'm a sucker for such shows. I love how superhero movies are not too violent or gory yet there's the right amount of action involved. There's also always a plot twist which leave you seating at the edge of your seats, eager to find out what will happen next. Watching it in a cinema with your friends is all the more better because of the sound effects.

On a side note, do you find yourself hoping that the good guy will win in the end? Call me old fashion but I just love it when good wins haha! I do have friends that want the bad guys to win cause according to them, it's too boring when good guys win. Well I hate it when they do and love it when they fail haha!

After talking so much, you guys are probably eager to see the trailer! Well enjoy!

Here's an interesting question for you to think about and buzz around with your friends. If you had Thor's Mjolner for a day, what would you do with it? Personally I would arrest all the bad guys. Not kidding, I'll just like magically 'push' all of them to jail using the force of the Mjolner hohoho. And it'll be nice if I could summon the rain when it's 35 degrees. Did you know that Thor's Mjolner can actually track a person? Yes, I did my research. Thor fan here! It'll be nice to have the ability to track a person. That way you'll know where someone is at any time of the day. Ok sounds really freaky and stalkerish but think about it, now you don't have to worry about a teacher walking pass when you're doing your hw HAHA! That happened to a few of my friends and they panicked like crazy after. Also let's pray that my teachers don't read my blog haha!

Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs 2 Sneak Preview!

Hey guys! On Tuesday, thanks to the folks of Churp Churp, I received 2 tickets for Cloudy with a chance of meatballs 2 sneak preview! I invited Jo along cause a movie is always twice as funny with her :D

After school, we went to Dhoby Ghaut for dinner. Originally, I wanted to have western food but after walking around the new side of Plaza Sing, we found a really cosy Jap place called Japanese Hand Drip Coffee. We decided to eat there cause we were starving and the food there looked pretty good.

After deciding what we wanted to order, we realised that the service system there works a little differently. Instead of the usual raise your hand and wait for someone to come to you, they had a little remote with a button for you to press to request for service. Kind of work like the ones you have in a plane. I thought that this was pretty interesting and useful as well. Have you ever had a really awkward situation when you wave your hand around but no one comes to you? So you end up raising your hand for quite a long time and feeling like a complete idiot. Hahaha always happens to my friends when we order so yay to this restaurant.

In case you're wondering how the remote looks like, I snapped a picture of it!

One of the first dishes that we noticed was their souffle and french toast. At the entrance, there was a mini french toast dish made out of clay. Well I think it was clay. But anw, it looked really interesting as it was served on a pan and was cut up into little pieces with each piece stacking on top of each other. The souffle caught our attention because that was what the lady next to us ordered. It was HUGE. It doesn't look that tasty when she ate it though but we wouldn't know cause we didn't get it in the end hahaha.

Even though we wanted to try out both dishes, we thought that it would be a little too much for us to finish. We both ordered the same dish in the end and said that only if we're still hungry after then we will order dessert

Hoshino Pot Baked Curry Rice

Here's what we both had! It's hands down one of the best I've ever had. Even Jolene says so too and everyone knows she's a picky eater. It was served piping hot with cheese oozing around. Jolene actually asked the waitress if there was any meat in it because from the picture in the menu, we could only see cheese, eggs, sausage and broccoli. So she replied that there was beef and pork in it. We both assumed that the meat was hidden underneath the cheese, just like other baked rice but when it came, it was actually minced beef under the cheese. Kind of like a lasagne. In fact, this dish reminded me of a lasagne just that it's rice. It was really delicious and the portion was just right! It might look like a small portion but after eating for awhile, Jo and I both realised that we weren't even halfway done with the dish yet hahaha!

After dinner, we walked over the The Grand Cathay to collect our tickets.

It was free seating, unlike Smurfs 2 sneak preview, so we were a little lost when we entered the cinema haha! We were just like urhhhh where do you want to sit. Eventually we managed to get pretty good seats right in the middle of the cinema.

Throughout the movie, I kind of was falling asleep. Not cause the movie was boring but I've been staying up late the past few days and have been getting really little sleep. Not helping that our school's timetable was really long every single day. However, in the middle of the movie, I suddenly felt so awake cause the plot got interesting. More of cute I would say. All the foodimals were toooo cute! For those who have watched it, my favourite characters were the marshmallows, strawberries and potato hippos! I felt like I was watching Pokemon at one point of time just that in food form haha! The movie was about 1.5h long so I didn't get home too late. Going out for brunch ltr with Jolene! On a side note, look out for 2 more outfit posts on TAL soon (:

Disney Planes: Say It With Planes

Hey guys! I'm back with a Plane-tastic news for you! See what I did there (;

I'm sure most of you are fans of Disney movies. Now who wouldn't be! Disney is practically my childhood. From Monsters Inc to Cars, I've been catching every single movie. It's nice to let the inner kid in you out once in awhile. Moreover, Disney movies are so heartwarming. I was just talking to Jolene about Disney after our Econs test and she still rmb how she cried so badly as a kid watching Monsters Inc cause they destroyed the door. Boohoo ):

I'm glad to say that Disney is back with another movie! This movie is called Planes and it's basically about a plane, Dusty, who dreams of competing in the most exciting round-the-world air race in history. However there is just one big obstacle in his way – Dusty is afraid of heights!

Doesn't Dusty look adorable? The movie is about finding your inner strength to overcome obstacles and succeeding with the help of your good friends. I'm sure all of us have our own obstacles, be it studies or relationship but what's most important if to find the courage to face it. I know this is easier said than done. Trust me, it took me forever to find my inner strength but as hard as it seems, it remains a fact that if you nvr try to overcome an obstacle, it remains an obstacle.

You can check out the trailer to find out more!

Let me share a little story my yoga teacher shared with us on Wed. Yoga might seem like a really slack activity, but it teaches me a lot of values. The most important is that we need to push ourselves in order to improve. The yoga poses we do, requires flexibility which I'm sure we all know = pain. Hahaha! Ironically, the only way to to decrease the pain is to do it more often in order to become more flexible. Aside from the fact that I'll become more flexible, it also teaches me the importance of facing my fears. One day, when I can do all the poses without aching(which I'm sure will happen someday), I'll look back at all the aches I've been through and know that it was all worth it.

As this movie is about inspiration, I thought I should share who inspired me to pursue my dream. I'm sure all of you know, I'm a dancer. My teacher is definitely my inspiration. When I first joined ballroom/ latin dance, it was out of interest. However, we all know that interest is short lived and eventually, it's because you love what you are doing that keeps you going on. My teacher not only taught my techniques to improve my steps, she also had constant talks with me, as if I'm her daughter! She truly cares for each one of us and I'm grateful for that. She once shared with me what separates an excellent dancer from a good dancer. It's the passion that he/she has for dancing. When you do have the passion, you can achieve things you nvr thought you could. She's my inspiration because of what she embodies. She doesn't believe that anyone of us is a bad dancer. As long as we have the drive and passion, we all have the potential to be an excellent dancer.

So I'm sure all of us can relate to this movie. Disney Planes is organising a contest for all of you Disney lovers out there! You can stand to win movie passes & exclusive premiums! Other prizes include Disney's Planes kid T-shirt, Disney Planes holographic stickers and Disney's Planes metallic cover notebook. When I was a kid, I always made sure to buy an up size popcorn combo in order to get the merchandise hahaha! I'm sure your little brother and sisters will be happy to receive these items too! And if you do win the tickets, you can bring a friend out to catch the movie with you(:

How to take part in the contest? It's really simple and I took part in it too! Click here to go to the Facebook Page of the contest. Follow the instructions there and you're done! Basically you are given the opportunity to send a personalised message to a Facebook friend. I tried it out and sent one to my sister hahaha! Btw, I chose Rochelle as my plane cause she's a girl and pink! :D
