YPS X Angie

Hello everybodyyyyyy! I've officially completed my first sem in uni which means that I'm back from my 3.5 months hiatus from blogging. Just to clear things up but I wasn't planning to be gone for so long but hall + school life has kept me insanely busy. So busy that I don't really have much spare time to myself. Hopefully I'll have better time management and catch up on the 1000000 posts that I have planned since August

Wild West

Going to theme parks during winter means it's a must to wear jeans cause it's just so much more convenient and you won't end up freezing when on roller coasters. Which is why I actually bought a pair just before I flew off to Gold Coast. If you don't know, I'm not a huge fan of jeans cause they're almost impossible to wear in sunny Singapore and I feel really constrained in them. Plus it's harder to find the right pair of jeans for petite girls (as all my other petite friends agree) and so I was kind of skeptical about getting them but I had no choice so oh well.

Safari Girl

I have always, always, like really always wanted to wear a floppy hat out because I know it'll look pretty good in photos but wearing a huge hat in Singapore just seems a little too exaggerated. That's exactly why I packed all my floppy hats for Bali cause you know, when you're a tourist, you can pretty much wear whatever you want and no one will judge you.

Went for a safari girl kind of look with brown and sand tones. This is actually one of my favourite floppy hats and it's from Stradivarius (borrowed from Heyse). Would have bought one myself but this colour is currently sold out which kind of sucks but what are friends for if you can't borrow their stuff right hahaha. Going to pack this little hat to HK as well and here's an advance thank you to Heyse haha!

Hello From Bali!

Hello from Bali!!!!! This is the very first trip where I had to plan everything from scratch, from where to visit to making reservations to booking tickets, and I think I might have an inner SC in me (as what Ben likes to say).

Everywhere in Bali is just so gorgeous and the amount of greenery here is insane. We've been driving pass paddy fields and even saw cows on the way! I'm quite sure the driver was super amused at how amazed Ben and I were hahaha. All photos (except the last) were taken outside the Gardin Bistro where we had lunch at. That was the very first cafe we checked out in Bali and I rmb telling Ben that if everywhere looks like this, I'll be visiting Bali a lot more often.

PS. Xinyu = Ben, Ben = Xinyu just in case you're wondering haha!

Let's Talk About Stripes

For some weird reason, I've been into stripes lately. I know they've been the in thing about 2 months back but hey, I guess it's never too late to jump onto the bandwagon right?

So I stole this top from my sister's wardrobe (but she always wear my tops too so it's fine hehe) and it's a little big for me. It's a Euro 36 and I'm a usual 34 but it didn't really bother me that much cause it complements the casual, breezy look I was going for.

And yet another striped outfit.

Got this cute matching 2 piece set and I absolutely couldn't wait to wear it out! This is definitely a much better alternative to a romper cause you don't have to go through the trouble of removing everything when you go to the washroom hahaha #truestory. And I got them at a really good deal as well at Bugis Street. Bugis Street is like the best place to get mass manufactured stuff?!

PS. I actually wore another stripe top today which makes it 3 times in a week but let's save that for another time.

Just to prove that I really did wear one haha!

#Throwback

A little throwback outfit post cause....  I JUST BOOKED TICKETS TO HONG KONG!!!!! Yeah, again haha. I wasn't planning for it initially but we say that Cathay Pacific was having a promo and decided to go for it!

After going so many times to HK, many things have changed but I realised smth that has always remain. People love (like really love) to wear jeans with sneakers. It's like the 'in thing' there and so I decided to finally jump on the bandwagon and wore my jeans and sneakers for a day of exploration at Ocean Park! Keeps me warm + comfy to walk in.

Probably not the most flattering style if you don't have the height and figure to be honest but nevertheless, the comfort of it all outweighs whatever problems there is haha!

PS. Clearly insanely happy with the bow I bought in HK

Street Style

You'd probably judge me if I told you how this outfit came about but I'm gona share anw hehe. I bought this scarf from HnM in HK on the very first day that I arrived cause it was on sale and well, who can resist a sale? I bought it thinking that it might go well with a plain dress but then I changed my mind because I figured I'd looked too 'pulled down'. One thing about being petite is that you don't want to wear clothes that would make you look shorter than you alr are. Wearing a super chunky scarf with a dress has that effect, especially if you have a longer torso than legs (like me)

Being the stubborn person that I am, I just wanted to wear the scarf cause I thought it was pretty. So the way to solve it is to go with tight jeans. And you can't wear it with anything else that is bulky (like a bulky coat) cause you'll just look really heavy. Which explains why I wore my leather jacket to go with it. So yes, while being petite means you are don't have the liberty of experimenting with all kinds of style, it doesn't mean it should stop you. In fact, I kind of like this look!
