Paw Pet-Radise Cafe: Alton's 8th Bday!

I've always known that there are dog cafes in Singapore but I nvr bothered finding out where they are. As mentioned previously, we seldom bring our doggies out cause they are insanely afraid of car rides and would not sit still hahaha! A week back, my sister texted me that Silver's dog, Alton, is celebrating his 8th birthday at non other then Paw Pet-radise Cafe! They are throwing a dog party so we thought it would be fun to bring Glitter and Dazzle out somewhere new(:

The car ride there was pretty interesting cause I had to manage both dogs on my own. My sister was busy driving and it's actually the first time I have to take care of both doggies. Glitter calmed down after 5 mins and lied down on my lap whereas Dazzle ran around everywhere... I was praying so hard that she won't fall off the chair. To make things worst, she refused to settle down and let me hug her. Oh well. Glad the car ride wasn't too long cause I felt bad for Dazzle who was so intimidated by the idea of a car ride hahaha! This silly dog.

So here's how Paw Pet-radise Cafe looks like!

The tables are all aligned at the side so that the dogs could run and play in the middle. It was really very fun to watch Glitter and Dazzle play with other dogs. It kind of felt like they were our children cause we were so worried that they would end up fighting with our dogs and end up hurt. After a while, we realised that they made friends with all the other doggies so we can finally relax and eat hehe.

Being a pet friendly cafe, of course they had a pet menu. The prices were reasonable as well. The most important part was our doggies actually liked the food there! Dazzle usually eats everything so that wasn't a problem. Glitter on the other hand, is a really picky eater! She doesn't eat half the food we buy for her so we were worried she wouldn't eat the food there. Surprisingly, she really loved the dog food there so we bagged some home for her.

I had a really fun time playing with the other dogs and snapping photos of my 2 little precious. My favourite dog is actually the Cafe's pet, Mia! She is a Husky and is just such a sweetheart. She would quietly sit down next to me and just look at the food I'm eating but won't bark. Wish I could say the same for Glitter and Dazzle. They would just bark at you till you give them food. Spoilt and pampered by my mummy haha! Mia kind of reminds me of Bebe, my aun't Collie in HK. They're both really obedient and your heart melts a little when you look at them.

Introducing Mia!

Took the most photos with her cause she would actually stay still unlike the other dogs haha! Isn't she such a sweetheart? Can't wait to visit her the next time I'm back!

Now it's time to present Alton! The birthday boy :D Alton actually gets jealous really easily so when Silver fed the other dogs, he would bark at her haha! So cute right!

Not forgetting our own dogs(:

If you're planning to visit Paw Pet-radise Cafe(which I really think you should), be sure to check if they're open that day! They are available for booking for private events so they are closed on certain days. With that being said, you guys can hold a party for your pets now!

PS. Need to have a doggy outing with Jolene soon

Phantom of the Opera

I went to watch Phantom of the Opera on 24 Aug and I'm glad I finally found time to blog about it! (: I'm a huge fan of such events cause I'm a Lit student and well, it's always nice to dress up for it. Events like this calls for formal wear and heels hehehe. I would catch every single performance at MBS and the Esplanade if I had the money and time but unfortunately, I don't. I'm just happy that my mummy is willing to pay for all these events cause she knows how much I enjoy them :D

I went for Phantom of the Opera with Jia Lin, Joel and John. JL and I were super worried that the guys would come in T shirt and berms cause that's what they usually wear HAHAHA! So we kept texting them to dress appropriately if not we're gona ignore them the whole day. Well I'm glad they didn't come in berms. However they looked more like our little brothers than friends when we were all together. I think it's cause both JL and I dressed up for the event.

When we entered the theater, there was a photo booth with the words Phantom of the Opera at the backdrop. The queue for it was insanely long though... So we didn't queue up for it. We were actually running late and only had 5mins to spare before the performance started. Yeah... we spent too much time eating and taking photos hahaha!

So here are some pictures we took in the theater. The photos are not very clear though cause the place was dimly lighted.

Funny thing about that day was that there was smth wrong with JL, John and Joel. I'm not kidding. John was afraid of all the loud sounds and apparently the mask the Phantom wore was scary, JL was spazzing out over their voices and Joel couldn't sit still. Every 10 mins, he wanted to go out and walk HAHAHA! My friends are a weird bunch but I love them haha. I was seated in between JL and John so half the time I was trying to calm JL down and the other half was spent convincing John that this is not a horror show.

Jokes aside, I thought that the performance was really good. The effects and voices were fabulous. Clap clap clap! I did get a shock at some parts but it wasn't anything scary. It was mostly due to the sudden loud sounds. The singing was fantastic and the main song was stuck in my head for almost a week. What I absolutely loved about the performance was the costumes!!! They were all so pretty and I hope that 1 day I would have the chance to wear one! Not sure why I would wear it but it would be soooooo cool! Guess my bucket list just got longer haha!

After the performance, we left the place to find Jolene. Coincidentally, she was at MBS that day too cause she was celebrating her sister's birthday at Wolfgang Puck. JL, John and Joel went home after that and I joined Jolene for dessert! Well I definitely did not regret joining Jolene that night haha! The dessert was really good and the company even better(: I guess if I had to sum it up, it was an enchanting and magical night*

Embroided Dreams

A quick ootd post before I get back to doing I&R! Been eying on this dress for quite a while now and am so glad that I finally got it! What I absolutely love about this dress is its embroidered details. It's really dreamy and sweet. Moreover, white on baby blue just echoes sweet! Perfect dress for a tea date and in fact, I did wear this with Don to Antoinette. The sewing wasn't perfect though and I guess that's cause it's a mass manufactured piece. Length wise, it was just nice for me (: Which means it would be quite short for taller girls. If I'm not wrong, the length was about 29".

I was going for a fairytale kind of look that day so I decided to wear a charm bracelet. I have quite a few charm bracelets actually but seldom wear them. Really need to wear them more often haha! This charm bracelet is perfect for this dress cause for starters, it's white. Secondly, the charms on it are all fairytale charms - glass slipper, carriage, pearls, crystals. Normally I wouldn't wear it cause it's too girly even for me but I just felt uber girly that day haha!

Paired it with a basic brown sling bag and my newest kicks from Asos! Just nice cause it's white too hehe.

Antoinette

Don and I were deciding on where to go for brunch yesterday and we went to ladyironchef to decide where to go. After looking through the whole list of places to go, we decided to pay a trip to Antoinette! A little embarrassed to say this but I've nvr been to Antoinette before and Don got such a shock when he found out. Now I know the reason behind his expression...

Upon arriving at Antoinette, I realised that the place is decorated with a fairytale kind of theme. Even before I stepped into the place, I kind of knew what to expect. It's totally my kind of place! I was telling Don how I feel like I'm in Beauty and the Beast. The decorations just reminded me of my favourite fairytale. We even got to sit at the pink chairs which made me feel like a princess hehe.

Now you know what I mean by it seems like you're in a fairytale. When you first enter Antoinette, The first thing that you will probably notice is their display of macaroons and cakes. 2 of my favourite food ever!! In fact, I bought a box of macaroons home cause I was too full to eat it after brunch haha!

I had quite a hard time deciding what to order. I'm pretty sure I spent more than 10mins staring at the menu. Well staring at the menu and busy taking photos of the place. I was just too caught in the moment haha!

In the end, I decided to get Nougatine Crepes cause I thought crepes would be less filling. I wanted to leave some space for cakes!

Nougatine Crepes ($16)

The crepes were pretty good actually. I especially loved the ice cream! Tasted like salted caramel which is my favourite flavour for ice cream! Nougatine Crepes is filled with nutella, salty caramel, caramelised filo, nougatine ice cream and vanilla creme chantilly. Sounds pretty good doesn't it? A little thing to note though is that after a while, it gets really sweet. I didn't manage to finish cause it was way too sweet after I ate about half of it haha! Probably best to share it with a friend.

Classic Eggs Florentine ($15.50)

Here's what Don got! Being an Eggs Benedict fan, he pretty much knew what he wanted to get the minute he saw the menu. This dish is served on toasted brioche, wilted spinach, serrano ham and topped with hollandaise sauce. I'm not a Eggs Benedict fan so I can't tell how good it is cause I don't usually eat them. More of a scrambled eggs kind of person but according to Don's expression, I guess it was pretty decent! I tried it and it was a little too salty to my liking but that's just my personal preference.

Strawberry Shortcake

I didn't choose the cakes that we had for dessert actually cause Don wanted to surprise me. This might even be better cause I probably would end up spending 20 mins deciding on what to get haha! So for the first cake, he ordered Strawberry shortcake. According to him it's cause he ordered chocolate for the other one and was afraid that it would be too chocolatey. I found this cake pretty good actually and would recommend it if you're a strawberry lover!

Antoinette

This cake is actually Antoinette's specialty. It's made of milk chocolate mousse infused with earl grey tea, chocolate biscuit, dark chocolate earl grey tea cremeux, raspberry coulis and earl grey tea crumble. Personally, I thought that this cake was better than the strawberry shortcake. Maybe it's cause I'm more of a chocolate person. This cake is definitely unique cause it infuses chocolate and earl grey tea together. Definitely going to order this the next time I'm back!

Antoinette is definitely my favourite place to go to for desserts now and I doubt it's gona change. Quite hard to top it off don't you think? I mean I feel like a princess when I eat there HAHAHA! Can't wait for the next trip back(:

Casa Verde

My love for brunch will go on and on... Haven't had brunch for quite awhile so I decided to make a date with the little brother to go for brunch tgt. He's equally a foodie as I am and is willing to spend on food so yay!

In my previous post, I mentioned that we went to Botanic Gardens for brunch! Unfortunately, it started raining when we got off the MRT. Casa Verde is located at the heart of Botanical Gardens and the MRT is right at the end so there is a distance that has to be walked. Well the weather didn't work to our favour so we decided to buy an umbrella cause the rain didn't look like it was going to stop soon. So do take note of the weather and rmb to bring an umbrella!

Upon arriving at Casa Verde, we were honestly just glad that we weren't soaked hahaha. We quickly got seated and took a look at the menu. Breakfast at Casa Verde ends at 11am and of course we missed it being the pigs that we are. However, they did have a Whole Day Gourmet Breakfast! Lucky for me! I still get to enjoy brunch even though it was lunch time. Don't you just love all day brunch/breakfast?

The interior of the restaurant is really cosy. Probably cause of its location. The air was so fresh and there's just so much greenery around you! I love places like these. It reminded me of Riders Cafe where I ate at awhile back. Lets you escape the hustle and bustle of the city. The song selection that they played included classic such as (They long to be) Close to you by the Carpenters. Makes you feel so much more relaxed(:

They offered alfresco dining as well which is smth I don't usually opt for in Singapore cause of the weather. However, outdoor dining is perfect for those who don't mind the heat. Especially since it's located at Botanical Gardens. You get to hear the birds chirping and on that rainy day, the pitter patter of the raindrops. Most costumers dined outdoors actually so the interior seating was quite empty.

The restaurant operates on a self service concept so my little brother offered to order our food. He's such a cutie. Honestly, I feel as if I'm the younger one. Hahaha ok time to talk about the food!

Whole Day Gourmet Breakfast ($15)

My breakfast set consist of scrambled eggs, mushrooms, black bacon, cumberland sausage, hash brown, grilled tomato and toasts. Sounds like a lot of food right? Well yup you're right. I couldn't finish the portion and I normally can cause I'm a brunch lover. You could actually choose between fried or scrambled eggs but I went with my usual scrambled eggs. The meal wasn't anything fantastic and I found the bacon a tad too salty. The eggs and mushrooms on the other hand, were good hehehe.

Hot Chocolate ($5)

I'm pretty sure ordering Hot Chocolate during brunch is turning into a habit for me :/ Brunch just whispers hot drinks haha! The drink is pretty much your usual hot chocolate. Would have been nice if they added toppings such as marshmallows or used a nicer cup though so that it'd be instagram worthy.

Carbonara ($15)

Here's what my little brother ordered! Upon reading the recommendation of Ladyironchef, he decided to go for pasta cause apparently that's what's good. The Carbonara consisted of bacon, garlic, cream, eggs and parmesan cheese. It really was quite good! The portion was also quite huge. It doesn't look like there's a lot but I guess you probably can't eat much of it cause of its creamy base. Nevertheless, it was sooooo tasty! I started munching on it and that's probably why I couldn't finish my own meal.

When my brother went to order his food, they told him that there was a promotion gng on. He could order his pasta, with a Panna Cotta and a drink at $17! The carbonara itself alr cost $15 so the deal was quite good. Speaking of Panna Cotta, it cost $8 if you order it alone so it makes so much more sense to get the promotion. As for the drink, you get to select from your regular soft drinks and my brother got Sprite. The promotion is valid from 11am - 2.45pm and is definitely worth it.

Panna Cotta ($8)

I honestly had no idea what a Panna Cotta was when my brother told me what he ordered. Well this is pretty much how it looks like! It's really tasty and kind of reminded me like mousse? Probably not worth $8 though cause it was quite a small portion. A lot more worth it if you get the set meal that they are having.

On a side note, my brother is getting good at taking photos. Must be because he have 2 elder sisters who constantly ask him to help us take our ootds hehe.
