Monochrome Splatter

Can you tell I've been really into monochrome recently? Here's another monochrome ensemble I wore today! Channeling my inner 'coolness' (?) today.

If you're wondering how in the world I'm finding midi skirts that is just nice for my height, I got this from TTR! It's actually TTR's get lucky midi skirt which I've previously worn in mint (here)! So happy when they decided to launch it in this monochrome splatter print cause it's so edgy and is really what's 'in' now. Many bloggers such as Songofstyle own a similar skirt in this print so it's just awesome I managed to find a suitable one for my height. The sizing for both skirts are slightly different though. This is a 11.5" for the waist measurements whereas the one in solid colours are 12". It is also a little less structured than the mint one so it's a little more 'poofy'.

Paired it with a really basic top from Ladymojo. Don't you just love basics with a twist? This pretty bow top is to die for cause it's just so adorable! The bow is actually tied by yourself so it's super convenient and you can adjust it to your liking.

Finished my monochrome look with my shades and new espadrilles which btw, are seriously super comfy. Was pleasantly surprised when it didn't give me any blisters cause I usually have that problem with new shoes so yay! (:

Casual Slacks

It's been a really, really long time since I've felt so comfortable in shorts that I'm wearing them out to Orchard. Twice this week actually. Figured that since there's going to be lots of walking yesterday for the SIWW Pledge event (which I'll be blogging about soon), I should be dressed as comfortably as possible!

Both shirt and shorts are from Zara TRF and have been with me for quite awhile. With that being said, I don't actually think I've worn this shirt before even though I had it for maybe about 2 years now? Bought it on impulse cause it was really pretty haha! It gives off a really beach slacks kind of feel, perfect for Singapore. Made of really thin cotton as well!

Been really into shorts recently so I guess it's time to go shorts shopping!

Cafe Hopping Crew: Habitat Coffee

Checked out Habitat Coffee with my fav cafe hopping crew a few days back after a really, really long time spent on deciding where to go. The cafe is about a 10mins walk away from Marymount MRT so it's quite convenient! Met them around 12noon to make our way there. At the station, Leeyin was telling us how Heyse wasn't replying her msg and we all guessed she overslept so we went ahead without her haha!

After a really long walk(ok, not that long but the sun was so hot, it felt like forever), we arrived there! Probably should have cabbed there but I guess it's a good work out? We reserved seats earlier as well so we didn't have to wait. Surprisingly, even though it's a weekday, the cafe was really crowded! Rmb to call and reserve a table so that you don't have to wait!

The Big Ben ($14)

Jo, John and I all settled for the classic, big breakfast. It's the best thing to order if you just want a little of everything haha! Wasn't anything spectacular but for the pocket friendly price, we weren't expecting anything much as well. I did really like the potato pancakes though!

Apple Cinnamon Pancakes ($10)

Here's what LY got. She didn't want to get a same dish as us so tried their pancakes! Didn't actually try it but guessing from her expression, it wasn't that good. Jo tried some as well but said it was average too.

Hello Truffle ($8)

Ordered truffles fries to share and I must say, it's quite good! This is my first time trying truffle fries actually and they do have a peculiar taste to it. Portion is quite big so it's wiser to share amongst your friends. A little note: it's quite oily but I was nvr a health conscious person so it didn't bother me haha!

House Made Churros ($9)

Had their famous churros as well! Jo said that many ppl recommend this but we all didn't get why cause it wasn't as good as it sounds. I've had better ones at Holland V! I'd say get their truffle fries over churros.

Habitat Coffee is definitely one of the few cafes that sell food at friendly prices. Nowadays, almost every dish cost about $20 at cafes so I'm glad that we managed to find one that didn't cost too much. I probably wouldn't go back there though cause there's just so many other places to check out and their food didn't impress us that much.

Well we went outdoors and ended up taking photos. Actually only John was taking photos cause the other 3 of us were in the photos haha! That's what happens when there's only 1 guy in our group. Oh yeah! Heyse actually really overslept and replied us around 3pm that she just woke up haha! So she met up with us after(:

Some more photos to end the post!

Street Style

A shift from my usual skirts and dresses to casual slacks for a 11hr (yes, this is normal) shopping/eating date with my friends! Initially wanted to wear a dress out today but I couldn't find it in my wardrobe so I pulled tgt this outfit real quick cause I was running late!

Wore this casual loose T but it was a little too oversize for comfort so I wore it with a tube top inside. Thought it'd be fun to pair it with a checkered blouse tied around my waist. But as you can see, I ended up using a blue one instead cause I don't own any checkered ones! Now I know what I need to get the next time I go shopping haha!

I'm quite sure you can't tell but the blouse tied around my waist is actually TTR's Keira Crochet Shirt! It's too big for me but I'm glad I found a way to wear it! So a tip to all those who are constantly trying to expand their wardrobe with the same amt of clothes: tie a blouse around your waist with a pair of denim shorts and tadah! Simple and easy.

Mesh'in It Up

Mesh has been a trend for quite awhile now and I've been eyeing on this dress for quite awhile! Most blogshops sell the spaghetti strap version but I'm someone who is more comfortable with sleeved dresses so I had to hunt down a sleeved version of this dress. Finally found it on Carousell and bought it instantly!

Would have gotten it in white but I couldn't find a shop selling it (bummer) but black is still ok I guess! What caught my eye was definitely the open back. I've recently been super into open back dresses/tops cause they give a boring old dress/top a surprising twist! Expect lots of such apparels on my IG and here for the month of June :D

The only problem I forsee ppl having with this dress is that it's quite short. It wasn't much of a problem for me but most girls will definitely find it short. Advantage for being petite I guess? Paired it with a pair of pastel flats for a 'ballerina' ish kind of look (:

Dinella

Back to wearing white! Have been experimenting with colours lately but my all time favourite colour will have to be white. It's just so clean, angelic and polished. Was initially a little hesitant in purchasing this trumpet dress cause I thought it'd be long but I did anw cause I just thought to myself that I could always sell it if it doesn't fit.

I was quite surprised when I wore it on actually. The shoulder area was so tight. I couldn't move around much and lifting my hands up are definitely, out of the question. No wonder so many ppl are selling this dress or trying to trade to a larger size. I knew I couldn't trade though cause it would be too long if I got size S. My shoulders aren't very broad to begin with and they're quite average in my opinion so I have no idea how others are going to wear XS.

After much tugging here and there, I managed to wear the dress and if I ignore the shoulder problem, everywhere else fits perfectly! I had no problems eating a full meal in this dress if I wanted to haha! Went for a clean look this time round and paired it with a pair of white heels.
