Bohemian

Felt like going Bohemian yesterday so here's a cute little outfit I put tgt. I wore this out to Orchard and I'm pretty sure I attracted quite a few stares oops. Haha ok but it's always fun to try out smth new.

Overall, I was quite happy with the look but the dress caused me so many problems. I've nvr been disappointed by a TTR apparel before so this is a first :/ This dress definitely looks prettier on their website. It crumples really easily which is such a turn off. After shopping for 7h, the dress pretty much looked like it wasn't ironed at all haha! I have no idea why but the straps kept slipping off my shoulders as well. This happened when my sister wore it too. Length wise, it was a little short for me so I guess that means it's really, really short for taller girls. White is slightly sheer as well but that's still acceptable. With that being said, if I were to look at the overall appearance of the dress, it's definitely unique because you don't really see blogshops coming up with dresses like this. They would usually sell skater dresses or basics so kudos to TTR's owners for coming up with this design(:

To the most important part of the outfit, MADLY IN LOVE WITH TCL'S BOOTIES. Mentioned that I shopped for 7h above and wow, my feet weren't aching at all! I was really prepared to get blisters before I left the house but this pair of booties definitely surprised me! In fact, after shopping for so long, everyone was super tired except for me. I was still up for a few more hours of shopping but it was alr late and the shops were closing hahaha. It's really stable and I foresee myself taking public transport in it. Normally I don't wear heels when I take public transport cause I can't really balance myself in them. This is definitely a keeper and I'm so glad I got it! (: I'm calling this my shopping heels. I really can't express how much I love this pair of shoes here. It's just too comfortable and definitely worth its price.

Well I was going for a bohemian kind of look so I tied a waterfall braid and thought it would be fun to have feathers in my hair. I've actually had this feather extension for a year and a half now but it's my first time wearing it haha! Last year, there was a period of time where I was super into feathers (please don't ask my why haha) so I stocked up on feather hair accessories. Nvr found a time to wear most of them out though so I'm glad I finally wore this one out! After a year, the feathers are still intact and it still looks pretty(:

So what do you think of my overall outfit? The first thing Rifdi said when he saw me what "You look like an Indian princess" Haha! Definitely was fun dressing up this way but I'm currently in the mood for layering and knits so here's saying bye bye to sleeveless tops for awhile. The more important reason is actually really cause I'm going to cut my hair and I can't hide my tan line anymore ): My hair is really long and heavy to the point where I can't bun it up or tie a pony tail without it drooping down an hour ltr. So bye bye to my long hair and fingers crossed that my new hairstyle will turn out well!

On a really random note, my mum and I seem to be wearing matching ootds. It's purely coincidental that we were both in white, had poofy sleeves and crochet details.

Midweek Splurge

Finally back with a shopping post! Whoop whoop! I haven't gone shopping for such a long time. Well last Wednesday, it was a holiday for me because my PW OP exam was over! My OP was on Tues and all went well(: *throws pom pom in the air* As much as I love my topic, may I nvr have to research on interacting with nature and present on it again.

I thought I deserved a good break after 3 grueling week of non stop practices so I decided to meet up with Yazmin. Time is passing by way too fast. It's been months since I last saw her! She's always out of town or having school so I'm glad we found a time to catch up. We decided to go to Orchard cause all the shops I want to go to are there hahaha. I didn't really buy much but it was more of a window shopping day for me. I was looking out for clothes that I want to buy for my Shanghai trip (It's in 2 weeks omg!) and planning to bring my mummy to shop with me this Friday :D Ok here are some photos of Yazzy and me!

(Purely accidental)

The problem with school trips for me is that they seldom allow skirts and dresses. It's so annoying cause I really hate wearing jeans. It's like I can't feel my thighs and it's so restricting. I feel a lot more comfier in my dresses and boots. More of my kind of style too! Well I found a solution to that when I went to Uniqlo! I swear, the jeggings there are soooooo comfy. For those who don't know, jeggings are a cross between leggings and jeans. They're basically leggings but made of a thicker material. They're not pricy as well! Probably going to buy 2 pairs when I go to Orchard on Friday.

Then we went to Candylicious cause candy makes baby Yazmin happy. Okay got to admit, who doesn't love candies? Hahaha! So when we went in, they were playing Christmas songs! Ironically, Christmas is my favourite season of the year even though my family seldom celebrates it. It's quite sad actually cause I would love to have a Christmas gathering where we will take lots of photos, play secret santa and unwrap gifts. Most of my relatives are in Hong Kong so that kind of sucks :/ But it's still nice to shop around during this time of the year because of all the decorations and music.

I wasn't planning to buy any candies when I entered the shop but the music played was like some brainwashing spell. My inner 7 year old girl came out and I couldn't help but buy candies! And I chose to buy the kind where you pick your own and pay according to the weight of it. I was having so much fun picking the candies and I made sure I only picked the colours I like hehe!

Gobbled them down in minutes oops.

We then headed to a few of my favourite shops such as F21, Bershka, Stradivarius and Zara. I'm always visiting the same few shops at Orchard haha! Can't help it but they're stuff are too attractive. After a few hours of shopping, we stopped for my favourite Takoyaki! Everytime I'm at Orchard, I make it a point to visit my favourite Takoyaki stall. You know the one at the basement of Ion? Yup, you'll always find me there. I'm pretty sure they sell the best Takoyaki in Singapore. Brings me back to the time when I was in Japan with Lynn and we had Takoyaki almost everyday!

Ultimately, at the end of the day, I only bought a pair of shoes from Bershka. I bought it for my Shanghai trip as well as for school! Thought it should be about time I should get a new pair of school shoes. The last time I shopped for school, it was back in February when I was in HK.

For dinner, we ate at Cedele. We decided on Cedele just cause it was closest to where we were and we were honestly too tired to find another shop. This always happens when I'm with Yazmin. We shop till we drop then just find the nearest cafe/restaurant and eat there.

Chicken and Walnut Salad ($15)

Yazmin is on a high carb, low protein diet which explains what she ordered. This salad consist of a grilled, juicy chicken and Californian walnuts with a recommended salad dressing of its whole grain mustard. When the dish first arrived, we were quite shock at the amount of greens there were. However Yazzy still managed to finish it cause vege isn't really very filling.

Ref Velvet Cake ($6.50)

I wasn't really hungry that night so here's what I ordered. This cake comes with natural vege juice and has a gentle hint of chocolate. It's frosted with light velvety vanilla cream that is not too sweet. That's what we worry most about cakes right? That they'll be too sweet and hence, we won't be able to finish it haha! Organic unrefined sugar and grape red oil were used as well. Mmmm I wouldn't say this cake was spectacular. I find that the red velvet cake Jolene baked for me is nicer haha! The portion is definitely worth the money though. I couldn't finish it cause it was too much for me.

And a quick ootd before I end the post! I know I haven't been doing much ootd post but I'll probably do one up this Friday so look out for it!

I'm not a fan of wearing shorts to Orchard but omg, this pair of denim is an exception. I got this pair from TTR awhile back and I love it to bits! It features lace details at the bottom of the shorts which distinguishes it from an ordinary pair of denim. Super comfy as well! Paired it with a LB top which I stole from my sister hehehe. There's actually mesh details at the sides of the top but it can't clearly be seen in this photo. It's really pretty in real life actually but I forgot to take a close up that day oops. I actually met my sister that night and the first thing she said was "I can't help but notice half the things you're wearing are mine". Haha that's true! The top, bag, watch and even bracelet are hers. We always share our clothes and that's the good thing about having a shared wardrobe :D

Well today marks the start of November supplementary lessons. As much as I hate it, I'm glad to be able to spend some time in school with my 01 darlings. Counting down to my Shanghai trip! Just a little heads up, I'm the photographer for my group so there will definitely be lots of new posts!

Nike We Run

I woke up surprisingly early today considering the fact that I was planning to wake up at 12noon so I shall blog about Nike We Run which just happened last Sunday. For those who have nvr heard of Nike We Run before, it's a 10km run organised by Nike annually. In fact, every year SRJC would ask their students to join it. We are the defending champion of the school challenge title. Hip hip hooray! Ok but more on that later.

So we had to be at the run pretty early. Baggage deposit started at 5.30am and the run's 1st flag off was around 7am. Jolene and I arrived at 6.30am and had to wait for Ben, Corn and Phil cause they were all late(forever making us wait!!! >:() Haha but in the meantime, Jo and I started taking photos. The run was actually held at the F1 pit so we could see the Singapore Flyer from there. It looks really pretty in the morning. It's a view that I rarely see cause I'm seldom out that early in that area.

Well finally Ben, Corn and Phil arrived. It was quite hectic actually because the place was sooooo crowded! So many ppl took part and it was quite scary actually. Everywhere you look, you see someone wearing a red shirt. It's basically like a sea of red. After meeting up, we took a group shot! Best running buds I could ever ask for(:

So the run started and we were part of the 2nd flag off. It was around 7.30am when we started running. You know what's the perks of running in the morning? You get to see a view like this.

When we started running, all of us ran tgt. We all kind of knew it wouldn't last long cause we all ran at different paces. But for the first 3km, we all ran tgt and kept motivating each other to push on. It's really a nice feeling to know when your friends are supporting you. Personally, I wasn't really prepared for the run. I did Will Run in Aug but that was 2 months ago! The furthest I've ran since then was only 5km and I honestly felt like I was gona faint any minute that time. It's quite scary to think that I have to double that on Nike We Run. Remind me to nvr stop running after a marathon hahaha.

My beboo Jo kept motivating me and she was soooo cute! Random inspiration quotes started flying all over the place and I couldn't help but laugh. She sounded like a tape on repeat! Hahaha but the first 3km was really fun with all of them. Everyone told each other not to give up and we would slow down for one another.

After the first 3km, Ben and I started to fall behind. Jo, Phil and Corn are really fast runners. If you think about it, Corn is in Canoe and he does PT almost everyday in the morning. Phil is in Track & Field and Jo runs at least 5km a week. Yeah I have very fit and healthy friends hahaha! So Ben and I told them to go on ahead cause we wanted to slow down and complete the run at our pace(:

We started walking at around the 4th km cause Ben's legs were numb. I was really very worried when she told me that she couldn't feel her legs. She normally can cover this distance but on that day, she was wearing Jo's track shoes. Blur Ben left her own shoes in the school's locker so she had to borrow a pair. Jo's track shoes are a lot heavier than the ones she own so I guess that's why. So we started walking together. While we were walking, we noticed that a lot of ppl had words printed at the back of their T! One couple really caught everyone's attention. Their shirts wrote "Married on 2 Nov 2013". That's just one day before the run! They even ran with cans at their back so that it would make a noise when they ran. Everyone went up to them and went "Hey congratulations" and it was so adorable cause they were holding hands while running. (:

At about the 5th km, we started jogging tgt again. At that time, we were at Geylang alr. It was really funny cause I was super tired when I was jogging at Geylang when Ben said "Omg the prata shop down the road is really good!" She started telling me about the really awesome prata shop and the cute uncle who works there. Apparently they asked him to help them take a photo but he didn't know how to use an Iphone so they had to teach him hahaha! How I felt like stopping and eating prata then.

Sadly, at the 7th km, Ben and I split up cause she suddenly had a burst of energy and ran ahead haha! I was starting to slow down too. I mean 7km is a lot alr! So we just ran at our own pace to complete the run. Of course I did stop once in awhile to walk for a bit but I nvr once gave up cause I knew my buddies were waiting for me at the finish line. And of course, when I finished the run, I went to find them. They were all so concerned cause they knew I wasn't feeling well during the race but we all celebrated completing the run! Did it the best way we know how: taking 10 000 photos.

Oh yeah, check out our very fail jump shots

Haha ok we finally got a proper jump shot. As I've mentioned earlier, SRJC is the defending champion of the School Challenge Title!!! Basically to win this challenge, you just need to have the most participants from a school. And of course, SRJC won again :D SRJC is really a school that values Physical Education I must say. I mean which other school will organise a 10km run (Will Run) annually? It might seem a little intimidating at first but trust me, all the hard work and sweat is worth it in the end. We won a cheque of $5000 and this will be going to the school fund(:

Nike We Run was a really fun experience cause of my running buddies! It definitely wouldn't have been as fun without them. Personally, I prefer Will Run cause there were ppl stationed everywhere to cheer you on and SR's spirit can really be seen. Well I doubt I would be running for the rest of the year but you nvr know, my friends are super spontaneous and they nvr fail to convince me to sign up for smth haha!

Hatched

When going out with Vho, Lynn and Shericia, we are always on the hunt for good food. Good food + good company, my idea of a day well spent(: I miss my boos so much alr and I can't wait for our next meet up! Hopefully it'll be during Christmas.

We were quite last minute in deciding where to go actually (as usual) because there are just so many options available! Just to name a few places, we were contemplating between Little Diner, Hatched and D'Good Cafe. The problem with us is that all of us are not super picky with our food. In our WA conv, it usually goes a little smth like this:

W: Let's meet up!
X: Over brunch please
Y: Yes! Yes! So where are we gona go?
Z: I'm fine with anything
W,X,Y: Me too

Yup usually it ends with all of us deciding that we are fine with anything and more often then not, I end up coming up with a place for brunch haha. I guess that's a good thing actually cause I get to choose to go to the places I haven't checked out yet and for our meeting last week, we went to Hatched.

I'm sure Hatched needs no introduction because it's really famous and established here in Singapore. A little embarrassed to say this but I've actually nvr been to Hatched before. In fact, if I'm not wrong, all 4 of us have nvr been there before(oopsy). As their name suggest, they mainly focus on their eggs and you won't go wrong ordering anything with eggs there(:

Their menu was super cute and I really like the fact that it's tiny. Big, gigantic menus really gets on my nerves sometimes cause they take up so much space hahaha. Halloween is nearing and Hatched is decorated in Halloween items! Forgot to snap a picture of the entrance of Hatched but basically they had orange/yellow banners(?) taped all around.

Cowboy Burger ($17)

I don't normally opt for burgers cause I'm not a fan of the raw vege in it but I decided to give this a try because the picture on the menu looked way too tempting. And besides, this burger didn't have much vege in it. This burger kind of reminded me of Macs Sausage Mcmuffin with Egg which is my all time favourite (I can eat this everyday if only it was served all day. Lazy Angie is lazy to wake up for breakfast). The egg wasn't too runny which actually caters to my preference cause I really don't like runny eggs. I must say that the fries weren't too good though. They were quite tasteless and I'm pretty sure I only ate about 5 fries.

Sir Benedict ($13/$19)

For this dish, you got to select if you wanted 1 or 2 eggs which explains the 2 prices mentioned. Lynn got 1 egg cause 2 seems a little too much for her. This dish shows Hatched's spin of the classic Eggs Benedict. I really like the mash potato because of its texture and taste. It wasn't bland like most mash potatoes are. I ended up eating half of the potato (sorry Lynn!) cause it was really good! As for the eggs, I can't really tell how good it was cause I'm not a fan of poached eggs haha! They all taste the same to me :/

Croque Madame

Here's what Vanessa ordered. I was actually having a hard time deciding between getting this dish or the burger I ordered. They both look really good on the menu! This dish features a ham and cheese sandwich, topped with a fried egg and served with streak fries. The fries were the same as the one I ordered so is was quite tasteless as well. Vanessa only ate a few too. Quite disappointing but at least the eggs were good! I had a bite of her toast and it was done quite well(:

Overall, I had a really fun time catching up with my favourite girls. It's amazing how we can not see each other for months but talk for hours when we meet up. No awkward pauses or weird moments ever. We are all so different in terms of our personality but we get along perfectly and I'm so looking forward to our next date!
